I don’t really consider that a setback. I never expected Ole Miss to show up in CT.

UConn should have made them buy their way out of the series. At least get something back for Ole Miss wasting your time.

UConn needs to play nice with everyone. Because you never know what role they would play in their future. Not necessarily Ole Miss…but someone in the AD department may be part of a school or conference that will impact UConn’s future.

Mississippi has a lot UConn would love to have: history and tradition, an esteemed school, membership in the best conference, a national championship, etc. So we should probably not be talking sheet.

I looked it up because I was sure you were exaggerating. You did. You rounded up. You should be fair to Ole Miss and acknowledge that the most recent set of published stats indicate its acceptance rate is 97.78%. Unbelievable. No flagship state university should be in the "if you can fill out the application" category.

That is extremely high and I won't spend much time on it. Maybe there are far more kids in Mississippi looking to go to school out of state than out of state kids looking to go to school in Miss. I think back in the day getting accepted at UConn in state was a given even if it meant going to a branch and starting with a different major. That was the purpose of the flagship U.

Miss has a smaller population than CT and has 2 P2 programs. I notice that Ole Miss is the flaghip but Miss State is the Land Grant U

Re: Ole Miss. Federal ruling around discrimination effectively requires Ole Miss to accept just about everyone in Mississippi that graduates HS. I forget all the specifics. Ole Miss isn’t a bad school, just like how West Virginia isn’t either.

With some required schedule shuffling, UVA’s now available for ‘27 and ‘28 games. IU canceled their Wahoos games to schedule Kennesaw State.

Push UConn’s FIU, Liberty, ODU or Temple ‘27 game out to the ‘30s, boom another prospective nACC opponent. Huskies 2027 schedule

Would like UVA on the schedule, but unlikely for 2027. Already have 4 ACC teams that year, and Benedict/Mora seem to be sticking to no more than four P4 teams per year
