So, if we don’t make the tourney for whatever reason, it’s not the end of the world. Penders has had a run of excellence that for most teams would be amazing, let alone a Northeastern club. He will figure it out and this team will be back. That said, barring a really bad BE tourney, I think we will get in. I don’t think this team goes to Omaha, but hey, one can dream can’t they?

There is a case for a UConn at-large both objectively and subjectively if they go 17-4 to win the regular season and make it to the final day of the BE Tourney. There is a subjective chance if they lose a game this weekend to go 16-5 and win the league and make it to the last day. Little chance if they come in tied for first in regular season & second in tourney. BE has made their case for a 2-bid league if UConn is one team. X or G’Town or Johnnies as 2-bid? I think not. X needed to play those 2 games against OK and KY.

Umpire gave us 3 batters to get out of the 5th inning and make the game official. Unfortunately, neither Finnegan or Quinn could do that (exact opposite actually) and there went the opportunity.
