I will actually be able to listen to this today. We cannot afford to drop these games this year.
 
Well, we still cannot throw strikes apparently.

PJ recovers and gets out of the jam, no score after 1.

Lambrecht smacks a single to lead off the 3rd, then Stefanski fails to bunt him over and comes through with a big hit anyway. Top of the order coming up with 2 on and no one out.
 
Prato smacks a 2 RBI double, 2-0 UConn. It sounds like we have more fans at the game than they do (based on what I am hearing on the radio.

Yahn walks on 4 pitches after a pitching change. Yay!
 
Weird series of events that nearly culminated in a triple play. Susi crushed a line drive right at the first baseman, and Yahn was picked off at 2nd base for the 2nd out. Prato took off for home during the throw, hoping to catch them off guard, and was a drop by the catcher away from being out as well.

3-0 UConn going into the bottom of the 3rd. Feldstein singled after Susi's at bat before Gnesda grounded out, so Prato would have scored had he held up anyway.

Poulin records 2 quick outs, including a great grab by Moriarity. Freshman stepping up.
 
We escape trouble courtesy of two huge strikeouts. CCSU is stranding runners left and right.

Top of the 5th, still 3-0 UConn.

Top of the order does absolutely nothing, going to the bottom of the 5th.
 
I'm one who would like to see him leave Nepiarsky in there longer. I felt like he should have used him longer in the last game against BYU.
 
Wallace comes through and CCSU strands two more! We need offense, there is no way we are going to hold them down all game.
 
On my drive home both Nepiarsky and Wallace sounded very good in their pitching stints. Not so good for Hintze. The midweek often feature lesser used pitchers that the coaching staff want to look at.

Well, if Nepiarsky keeps up the solid outings, we will definitely seeing more of him.
 
The offense has been asleep all game, save for the 3rd. This team needs more of a killer instinct.
 
Not so good followup inning for Wallace, he is leaving with the bases loaded in favor of Doug Domnarski.

CCSU tried the old Penders dead duck play where the runner on first breaks early and gets in a rundown, hoping that the runner on third will score. Sounds like Prato sniffed it out very well.
 
I have not heard the whole game. Did Chris Jones give an injury update on Randy Polonia?

Not from what I have heard.

4-2 after a deep Yahn sac fly, then Susi rips a double to make the score 5-2!
 
Winkel is going to be scary next year. I have never seen someone crush so many balls foul...plate discipline needs to improve, and it will over time.

Bottom of the 8th, and yes I suspect Russell will be needed today. We cannot lose this one.
