Top 1st, UConn offense with a scoreless inning, UConn batters with 2 strikeouts that inning.

Bottom 1st, the first Cal batter walks, then is removed on a double play. Sullivan faces the minimum three batters, no score.

Top 2nd, Padilla with a 1 out single for the first UConn hit of the game, but it ends up being a scoreless inning. No score.

Bottom 2nd, Cal loads the bases with 2 out with 2 walks sandwiched around an infield error. Sullivan gets out of it with no runs scoring. No score.

Bottom 3rd, Sullivan with 2 strikeouts as he puts down the side in order, no score. Sullivan is at 39 pitches.

Top 4th, UConn offense with a scoreless inning after having a baserunner erased on a double play. No score.

Chris Jones says next season UConn will be out in California for spring break games.

Bottom 4th, Cal gets 2 runners in scoring position with 1 out, the first batter reached base on a leadoff walk. A 1 out single drives in 2 runs. 2-0 Cal going to the top of the 5th. Sullivan at 60 pitches.

Nice to have announcers, a score widget that works and a camera that follows the action. I feel spoiled. Well…one announcer, anyway.

Bottom 5th, a no out 2 out homer off of Sullivan. 4-0 Cal. After getting a fly out for the first out of the inning, Sullivan is taken out of the game, Stephen Quigley in to pitch. Sullivan had 4 walks and 4 strikeouts in 4.1 innings pitched.

Top 6th, UConn gets 2 runners in scoring position with 1 out. Freeberger with an rbi ground out to make the score 4-1. Huber follows with a 2 out rbi double, 4-2 Cal. UConn leaves runners at the corners, still this inning was the first real scoring threat inning of the game for the Huskies.

Oufa…that looked outside, but what do I know.

What a sports day by the way…I have watched Men’s Hoop, Women’s hoop men’s and women’s hockey and here I am now. (some at the same time) Life is good for us Uconn sports fans.

Bottom 6th, S. Quigley with a quick 1-2-3 shutdown inning. Nice relief work so far for him. 4-2 Cal.

By the way, Chris Jones has been talking about the tight strike zone for both teams this game.

Top 7th, UConn gets 2 runners in scoring position with 1 out, but nothing comes of it. 4-2 Cal.
