UConn @ BYU -- 3/16 @ 8p ET, 3/17 @ 8p ET & 3/18 @ 3p ET

Prato single drives in Moriarty. 5-2 UConn lead going to bottom of 4th.

A 3-run lead isn't enough for our pen. We need Cate to hold here and the offense to keep adding on.

.-.
Cate gives up a solo homer followed by a triple in the bottom of the 4th. One out.

Cate at least the way it seems is relying on the fast ball and not going with the off speed as much. Not sure what to read into that?

It could be that the thin air is causing his curve not to break as much. Just speculation on my part, but I've heard that happens in the high altitude.

BYU scores another run, but a double play gets Cate out of the inning. Radue was warming up that inning.

His curve hasn't been very good. He hasn't located it well from what I can tell.

What goes around comes around... juggled balls and throwing ball around equal a run for UConn. 6-4

BYU pitcher drops the ball covering 1B, than uncorks a wild throw to home trying to get Gnesda. Two errors for the pitcher and a run for UConn. 6-4 Husky lead, going to bottom of 5th.

Easy 1-2-3 inning for Cate, who stands at 81 pitches through 5 innings.

.-.
Stefanski makes great catch in left, Radue gets a 1-2-3 inning.

.-.
And there goes the lead. Ump squeezes the strike zone and then we get screwed.

3 run homer off of Radue in the bottom of the 7th gives BYU a 7-6 lead.

Yikes....can not expect this offense to score 8-10 runs every game. Pitching has got to be a lot better
