This is where CJ had to call the game from. Shame on Butler and the Big East. Terrible.

Forget the park although the natural grass is great. The fact that any Div. 1 broadcasting setup home/away within any game or conference is the issue. That’s what’s terrible imo. I happen to like the American Legion esque look it’s refreshing from the turfball epidemic within sports now. Cost saving I know! It’s the biggest BS excuse. That’s not directed at Uconn btw. Seeing highlights from a game played on grass is almost obsolete lol. Sad.This is where CJ had to call the game from. Shame on Butler and the Big East. Terrible. Add that to the American Legion class ballpark that Butler plays in.

It would be one thing if the ballpark was well manicured. It’s not. The legion field in my town is better taken care of. And the plastic over the chain link fences…don’t get me started. Reminds of the Vikings and the metrodome, lots of plastic. Just an awful look.Forget the park although the natural grass is great. It certainly matters. But I would still take that over a turf field everyday. I personally think turf has completely changed baseball. It would be one thing if the ballpark was well manicured. It’s not. The legion field in my town is better taken care
Not just baseball…remember this?I played a bunch of rugby matches on turf. The burns on my arms and legs were epic. Even had a few on my face. Nothing like well manicured natural grass…see Fenway Park.It certainly matters. But I would still take that over a turf field everyday. I personally think turf has completely changed baseball.
I don’t remember it, no lol but I think this is the too much mud/grass sloppy condition “normal” of a natural surface field
I didn’t see the part of ur previous post re plastic on top of fences…that I’ll say is bad. I liked the Metrodome! Not just baseball…remember this?I played a bunch of rugby matches on turf. The burns on my arms and legs were epic.

Watch some old 60’s early 70’s football. They didn’t do much to maintain the grass, especially late in the season. It’s amazing that pros played on that slop.I don’t remember it, no lol but I think this is the too much mud/grass sloppy condition “normal” of a natural surface field
You’re right that’s changing the game itself by those conditions the same way I feel turf does today. Agreed slop is a good way to describe itWatch some old 60’s early 70’s football. No, you shouldn’t be o.k. It’s a road game. Jones is broadcasting from the facility that the home teams provide him. How that reflects on UConn is beyond me.I’m trying like heck to listen to Jonesy but it’s impossible. I’m sorry, it is. The background noise every 5 mins with papers rattling, sounds like a mix is being moved around etc etc. WTH. The basketball Program just won back to back Natl Championship’s and the baseball program can’t even get something to sound somewhat professional! It’s a disgrace! And I’m ok stating this.

Plus, normally when you check in less than 100 people are listening. The fact that the school is willing to pay anything to broadcast to less than 100 listeners is a gift to the fan base.
We probably have the biggest base of baseball fans in the BE. Both live and people who listen and watch remotely. No, you shouldn’t be o.k. It’s a road game. Jones is broadcasting from the facility that the home teams provide him. How that reflects on UConn is beyond me.

And St John's falls to Georgetown so if we win one more we clinch the outright regular season title?
No excuse for that. Just bad baseball ♂️Just awful base running by Broadhurst there. Ball hit right in front of him. Ran ourselves right out of an inning that time.
We can agree to disagree. The school can take it off the air entirely and the ones who are losing is Uconn and the players. I don’t care how many listeners there are, all games being broadcast this season have not been conducted behind bleachers. No, you shouldn’t be o.k. It’s a road game. I getting further and further away from understanding what your point is. We all want to see/hear the game, regardless of the quality. I will say that the CJ quality has far out done FloSports every time. Having him and Randy together on the home game broadcasts has been great. CJ does the best he can on the road. At home he is great. We can agree to disagree. The school can take it off the air entirely and the ones who are losing is Uconn and the players. I am ok with that.

Seriously? You think if the average is 110 instead of 75 that changes the point?A device can have more than one listener. For instance, my wife and I both listen to the games.
