More importantly, Georgetown beat St. John’s 1-0 in Queens tonight. So we’ve clinched a share of the conference title and the #1 seed. One win away from winning the conference championship.

I getting further and further away from understanding what your point is. We all want to see/hear the game, regardless of the quality. I will say that the CJ quality has far out done FloSports every time. Having him and Randy together on the home game broadcasts has been great. CJ does the best he can on the road. At home he is great.
Go Uconn Bomber! Hoping for a win today. That’s all.

Top 1st, Shpur with a leadoff double, and Tammaro with a bunt single puts runners on the corners with no out. On a Broadhurst ground ball, Shpur is thrown out at the plate for the 1st out. Morton follows with a 1 out RBI single, 1-0 UConn.

Padilla follows with a 1 out RBI single, 2-0 UConn, runners on the corners.

A double steal brings in another run for UConn Morton scores as Padilla gets into a rundown between 1B and 2B, 3-0 UConn. 2 strikeouts for UConn batters that inning.

Top 2nd, Garbowski with a leadoff single, Simmons follows with a double to put 2 runners in scoring position with no out. A sac fly for the 1st out by Shpur, 4-0 UConn.

Tammaro follows with a 1 out RBI single, 5-0 UConn going to the bottom of the inning.

I admit I have always had a liking for Simmons. Despite his hitting slump at the beginning of this season, I was a bit surprised he didn't get a bit more playing time to get out of it. Still, the way he has been playing, I have no problem with Shpur having taken over in CF, even with Simmons being a solid defender as well.

Maybe Tammaro is fighting his way out of his slump!

Bottom 3rd, after a leadoff walk and a sac bunt, a 2 out RBI single brings in a run for Butler, 6-1 UConn. S. Quigley leaves a runner on base.

Top 4th, Shpur with a 1 out single, he steals 2B and goes to 3B on a throwing error by the catcher on the steal. Tammaro follows with a 1 out RBI single (his 3rd hit of the game) , 7-1 UConn.

UConn offense loads the bases with 1 out, getting a hit by pitch by Broadhurst and a Morton walk. Padilla with a fielders choice ground out drives in a run, 8-1 UConn with runners on the corners.

Dalena with a 2 out walk loads the bases again, but nothing more comes of it. 8-1 UConn.

Even with the brief slum that Tammaro was in, before this game he was still leading the team in on base percentage, which to me is the most important offensive stat there is in baseball.

Bottom 4th, S. Quigley gives up a 2 out solo homer, 8-2 UConn. S. Quigley leaves a runner on base.

It was only 3 hitless games for him (or 3 1/2 if you count the rainout). A pretty brief sample size for a “slump” but glad to see him back to a multi hit game again.

Not an amazing outing by Quiggers, but he has been fine. A few of those hitters at the top of their lineup would look good in a UConn uniform.

It's hard to find a player who doesn't go into a brief offensive slump during a season. Considering how well Tammaro has been hitting and getting on base all season, I would not be all that worried about a 3 game slump (not counting the rainout as the stats to that game don't count as they are not official due to the game getting cancelled).

Top 6th, a leadoff single for Morton, he moves to 3B with no outs on a throwing error by the pitcher on a pickoff attempt. Morton scores on an infield error on an at bat by Padilla who reaches 1B, 10-2 UConn.

Padilla moves up a couple bases on a wild pitch and a ground out. Studley gets an RBI on a ground out, 11-2 UConn.

Top 7th, UConn offense loads the bases with 1 out (2 hit by pitches). A double play ends the inning with no runs coming in. 11-2 UConn.

Bottom 7th, S. Quigley gives up a 1 out double sandwiched between 2 strikeouts on his way to having a scoreless inning. 11-2 UConn.

Top 8th, UConn offense has a scoreless inning that included a double play for the 1st 2 outs of the inning. Hyde pinched hit for Garbowski. UConn offense leaves a runner on base, 11-2 UConn.

Finnegan takes the mound, Hyde takes over at catcher.

What this team misses is a Devin Kirby type who can hold things down for 2 innings to bother keep us in the game or stay out front. Maybe Finnegan can come on late and be that guy.
