Getting another big turnout in NYC in yet another sport would be terrible.
Hasn’t helped us before. These games don’t matter, it’s all about our personal happiness.

If ESPN wants us and UNI then it just may happen. Good for us as we're staying in Myrtle Beach that night on the way to the sister-in-law's home in the Outer Banks!
Don't forget to stop at Howard's Pup in Ocracoke

Fenway or Pinstripe would be huge because of the savings on travel costs. A bowl payout of $1million often times does not leave any profit for the schools once all the expenses surrounding playing in a bowl are accounted for.

And make a lot more money
Is it a given that UConn would see the whole official payout from Fenway?

It’s a ACC/AAC bowl. AAC has enough teams so they may not like having a team relegated to a lower payout.

I suspect part of ESPN juggling teams around involves money moving as well.

But the savings in travel alone would be a coup.

I work my 24 shift Friday and get off sat morning 12/28 flights out are like $100 might be able to make that work if we land at Fenway or pinstripe

A few does of fundraising with nearby alumni before a bowl game can't hurt too.

I’m fine with not playing in Orlando. Place is mid and I always get sick from kids coughing when I fly into MCO.

For selfish reasons I was hoping for Cure Bowl since only 40 minutes away. No Mickey Mouse ears in my travels. The support of Mora and UConn related to cancer made it logical choice as well.

As for mine. I fly into CT the day before Fenway or the Pinstripe.
I am the opposite. I fly to Orlando on 12/28 so it would be a bummer to get Fenway or Pinstripe. Now if we can get the Pop Tarts Bowl, my flight lands at 2:25pm. Kick off in Orlando is 3:30pm…

-> Projections for UConn’s landing spot have been varied, though CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm and Action Network’s Brett McMurphy each linked the Huskies to the Fenway Bowl in Boston on Dec. 28 against an ACC opponent, Pittsburgh or Virginia Tech. While the Fenway Bowl could benefit at the box office with a New England competitor, it does have a tie-in agreement with the American Athletic Conference that could preclude inviting UConn.

Brad Crawford at 247Sports also predicted UConn in the Fenway Bowl vs. Pittsburgh. Scott Dochterman and Stewart Mandel did the same at The Athletic, though they project Virginia Tech as the opponent. <-

Some BIG news over at storrs central

What bowl game does the AAC get to replace the Fenway Bowl? Is there another conference that can’t fill their bowl tie ins?
