Any chance of getting Murkowski back for a bowl game? For that matter, everyone who is banged up?
My question would be - are there any seniors or juniors who think they have a shot at the NFL who might decide to skip a bowl game?

I think it's unlikely for UConn, the guys who do have a shot at the NFL aren't shoe-ins to be drafted so additional film probably wouldn't hurt; plus the non-transfer upperclassmen have been to only one bowl, a loss, two-years ago, I'd guess there is still a novelty factor to the players.

On Sunday, December 8, bowl match ups will be announced. These are the bowl eligible teams.

I can't speak to a football point of view, but from a perception/eyeballs/clout point of view, the best outcomes of the above options would be:
  • Fenway or NYC against a regional P4 opponent
  • Anywhere else against any P4 opponent
  • Later in the bowl period

The week before Christmas against G5 nobodies would suck. Getting a shot at Pitt in big northeast cities would be terrific. UNC, TTU, or Arkansas would also be awesome.

I love the last two listed.

If we can put together another couple of seasons with steady improvement we may be able to get a tie-in (when the aligned conferences can't fill their bid) with Pinstripe and Fenway.

Yeah. Any bowl game before December 20th is a bummer. The 20th is Friday leading in to Christmas week when most people start having time off and can put bowl games on in the background. You'll get more casual fans taking a peek at the game.

Fully agree with this. While the players might want to head down south for better weather, the best opportunity would be Fenway or Yankee Stadium versus a P4 opponent. Especially on a Saturday where coming is easy.

Yup, we could get a ton of UConn fans here which would reflect well for us on bowl attendance.

I like the idea of taking the Yankee Clipper in to the Stadium. The T from Grove St. would be a distant second.

Boca date and time not ideal overlapping with probably the biggest MBB XL Center game of the season versus Xavier. Would be nice to avoid Boca because of that and GameAbove as 2:00 in Detroit day after Christmas would be a nonstarter for most.

Well… Tonight the Athletic’s Ouija Board is projecting/guessing VaTech v. UConn in the Fenway Bowl on the 28th @ 11a

Notes: (ESPN) indicates an ESPN Events bowl. Teams can be moved between them.

As a UConn and Sox fan this would make me happy, It would be icing on the cake that my buddy is a tech alum who also loves the yanks. Need this to happen lol

If we can play an ACC Team, and beat them, this would strengthen our conference argument. The fact we’ve played other ACC teams so close has to be a factor they are considering. All those games were entertaining!
