But this is my largest issue with Chris Jones. (And, to be fair to Chris, he's not an outside journalist, he's an Athletic Department employee.) Why in the world wouldn't you update your fanbase on this while discussing pitchers who are out? But he is not good at sharing roster information up front -- at best it leaks out as a series moves forward.

I have no issues what so ever with Chris Jones. He's a wonderful play by play guy, and he generally reports during game broadcasts information about UConn baseball that you are not going find out from anywhere else. That has been my experience over the many years that I have been listening to him do UConn baseball.

He is by far the best source for info on UConn baseball out there between his game broadcasts and his various interviews.

Bottom 2nd, a scoreless inning for the UConn offense, 3 more strikeouts for UConn batters. 1-0 TTU

Bats seem late, left pitcher with a tough arm slot must be hard to see the ball early. Hopefully second time through the order we can ding it

Molina handcuffing them and tying them up big time

Bottom 3rd, UConn offense goes down in order, they still don't have a hit. Only UConn baserunner so far was from an error. UConn have struck out 6 times so far. 1-0 TTU.

Top 4th, S. Quigley with a scoreless inning after a leadoff single. 1-0 TTU. Quigley at 73 pitches, hopefully he is good for a couple more innings. He has 5 strikeouts so far.

Quigley having an awesome game.

Looks likes some of the concerns about the offense are justified. This kid’s good, but not some sort of shut down ace.

Yeah CJones is the best, I'm so glad we have him covering UConn baseball

Quigley getting squeezed now. 3 of those 4 called balls on the walk were called strikes all game.

Top 5th, Texas Tech with 2 singles and a walk loads the bases with 1 out. S. Quigley comes out of the game. Fogell comes in to pitch.

First big spot in this game against Kash

Top 5th, with the bases loaded, Fogell gets a strikeout for the 2nd out, but a single brings in 2 more runs. 3-0 TTU. A 2 out walk loads the bases again. A strikeout ends the inning. 3-0 TTU.

Bottom 5th, another 1-2-3 inning with 2 more strikeouts for the UConn offense. 3-0 TTU.

Top 6th, after a leadoff walk, Fogell comes up with a scoreless inning. 3-0 TTU.

Bottom 6th, a 2 out infield single for Smith, UConn's first hit of the game. Tammaro is hit by a pitch to put 2 runners on base, so at least UConn has a 2 out rally threat going. However, nothing comes of it, 3-0 Texas Tech.
