Biggest question for the weekend for UConn is whether or not Devin Kirby and Ian Cooke are available to pitch during this regional.

We are here. This facility is big league. Not literally but figuratively. Let’s get off to a good start and get a W.

Quiggers throwing 92. Pretty good sign.

Sounds like there are some UConn fans there.

Andrew Sears is not available for the tournament, he was diagnosed with mono

Andrew Sears out for (at least) this series with mono. Anyone on the board who has eligibility left and can give us some innings if we have to go 5 games?

Good lord. I’m a three pitch guy…high, low and slow.

Top 1st, Texas Tech with a 1 out single followed by a double to drive in a run, 1-0 Texas Tech going to the bottom of the inning.

Getting ahead of every batter…need to put them away.

Thought quigley pitched fine honestly. That first hit was on a pitch out of the strikezone on a 1-2 count.

Bottom 1st, UConn offense goes down in order including 2 strikeouts. 1-0 Texas Tech.

Molina topping at 89. Wants to get ahead then work in and out need to be aggressive early in counts. Squigs hitting 92 but doesn’t have that put awaypitch. Something to work on (late movement)

The offense needs to get off to faster starts. Too much talent to continuously go 1-2-3 to start games.

Chris Jones did not mention Kirby, so I would think he is available to pitch.
But this is my largest issue with Chris Jones. (And, to be fair to Chris, he's not an outside journalist, he's an Athletic Department employee.) Why in the world wouldn't you update your fanbase on this while discussing pitchers who are out? But he is not good at sharing roster information up front -- at best it leaks out as a series moves forward.

Top 2nd, S. Quigley leaves 2 runners on base. 1-0 TTU.

With Cooke and Kirby out this weekend, UConn needs some productive innings from S. Quigley
