Not a criticism, just a commentary:

If you're including Clements as a possibility (absolutely warranted) Torkleson also should be mentioned. Prior to Orlovsky, he had the longest NFL career (by quite a bit) of any UConn player.

Also, while he still has a long career ahead of him, Tage Thompson may have already exceeded Krygier as an NHL player.

Jordan, Lawrence Taylor (defensive GOAT), MIA Hamm

I’d say that’s pretty damn good.

I'm totally amazed and VERY disappointed over the fact that Maya Moore wasn't mentioned, at least amongst the first ten or fifteen or more replies. If she isn't the best women's basketball player ever, she's !B ... there's never been anyone who came in instantly and played from her first game like she was an All-American senior ... A phenomenal teammate totally unselfish and then went to the NBA where she won a number of championships ... She then left long before her talents waned to help turn over a wrongly accused friend's conviction ... that man ended up being her husband ... If there's a Mount Rushmore of women's basketball,Maya deserves to be there ... my favorite women's Huskie though there's so many incredible women to choose from

He is “known” for his contribution at UCONN, not to mention home grown.

yeah he has the blooper in the end zone but had a pretty good NFL career, he stuck a good amount in the Not For Long league

Assuming this is limited to athletes, not coaches.
Football: Dan Orlovsky-brought us recognition that most thought would take 10 years.
Basketball: Khalid el Amin. We don’t win title #1 without his cocky yet intense personality. Got us over the almost but not quite good enough hump. After him UConn’s image changed.
Womens basketball: Rebecca Lobo. Another case of someone who led the program to its first title and set the standard for those who came after.
Hockey: Hudson Schandor. Didn’t get us to the Frozen Four but did to the NCAAs for the first time. Another guy who set a standard that future players will need to live up to.
Soccer: Joe Morrone, Jr. Won the soccer equivalent of the Heisman, the Hermann Trophy. All-American, Selected for the 1980 Olympics, scored the winning goal to qualify Team USA for the Games (USA ultimately boycotted Moscow games over Soviet invasion of Afghanistan).
Baseball: Charles Nagy. Great college career. Went on to be a 3 time All Star and is in the Cleveland Guardians Hall of Fame.

Bobby Rhine doesn't get enough love.

He led UConn to it's 1st National Championship in any team sport.
