napier starting again tonight. he played a very nice half of hoop despite missing a bunch of bunnies ( 1-6, 4-4 from FT). 6 pts 3 assists a steal and a block, playing very good pg in collison even. really good defense too.

Napier started, got 18 first half minutes, and played a pretty good half at Sacto, other than the fact that he somehow blew 3 layups in the first quarter - none of which mattered much. He got bailed out with a phantom foul on one of them after he missed, one was dunked on the follow up and the third was continuation after a reach in foul a step or two earlier (so he lost two "and ones" but made the 4 FTs). He's shown off some really creative passing, although a couple guys didn't knock down the looks he gave them so it doesn't show in the stats (only 3 assists).

He managed the game very well, other than the last possession of the half, when he stood in one spot and pounded the ball into the ground before jacking a contested three (looked like Boat v Tulsa). His defense was better, doing a pretty good job cutting Collison off (although he did get hung up on a screen a couple times).

If he had finished those three shots, it would have been a great half. Hopefully he keeps playing like that and earns another 18 minutes.

(Rudy is out w a knee sprain)

yeah if he and his teammates converted those bunnies (haslem open ft jumper) he could have ended the half with a line like 10 pts/ 5 assists/ 1 steal. all going vs one of the top pgs in the west

Sorry - basically duplicated your points five minutes later, just more long-winded (one disadvantage to Forum Runner vs the web version is that you don't see that there have been new posts while working on yours. Another is that chap's posts show up even though you have him on ignore).

Finishing at the rim was always going to be the struggle at the next level due to his height. Hopefully he figures it out a bit, or shoots well enough to compensate.

Bazz has done some good things here in this first quarter but he's getting toasted on defense.

napier's first step is legit. he blows by a lot of folks in the League. what happens IN the paint is another story, he will need to learn what to do down there. kick it out if there isn't a shot don't force the issue. play the glass etc

Needs a floater and also has to revive his midrange jumper, he had opportunities to pull up but would penetrate far too deep

Pretty gruesome Kemba vs. Bazz contest today. Kemba shot 4-17 with one assist. Bazz was 0-4 with four assists. Hornets won 78-76 - Kemba was 5-6 at the line down the stretch, but his one miss opened the door for Chalmers to win it with a three and he missed. Wish Boat had some of that luck.

While OKC continues to let Dion Waiters touch the ball, Lamb is still squarely on the bench. Waiters is now a robust 41/108 for 39% and 8/31 for 26% from 3. I just don't get what Lamb did to Brooks. It's not like Waiters has been playing good defense or is some fantastic playmaker either.

Indeed, you never know. Somehow the Knicks won, and Lamb got another DNP. The Thunder did get some quality misses from Waiters (3-10), who shot below 40 percent for the sixth game in a row.

The Thunder are such a disaster. I know they've had injuries but I can't believe they're actually going to miss the playoffs with that roster.
