Rosario went to Florida and finished eligibility last year. I don't have his stats at the moment but he never became more than a good role player for UF. As we 're seeing with Lasan though, those guys can be very valuable as well .

Rutgers is a gritty team from what little I've seen of them so far.

If we can keep Mack in check and not let the others step up, we should be OK.
Seagears has had a few good games against us in the past - so limit him as well.

Any margin for WTF games was exhausted with Houston and Stanford
Those disasters has made every game important.
Road losses at Cinn and Ville would be the exception.

Their guards are similar in size to ours, but Mack and Seagars had success against us in the past. Kadeem Jack was a UConn recruit but chose Rutty, Wally Judge was a McD All-American who initially went to Kansas State then transferred to Rutty...never quite lived up to his billing but Rutty has a significant girth and muscle advantage inside, so we are doomed, clearly DOOMED!

Why do people like you continue to dismiss the Washington game? While they aren't a great team, they certainly aren't a TERRIBLE team, with an RPI of 71 and wins over a ranked Colorado and Oregon recently. Houston on the other hand....now they clearly fit the bill as a terrible team.

I've given up trying to understand this squad. Too many variables. I love them and I will support them every second of every day, but I have strapped in for a roller coaster ride the rest of the way. In a way it is kind of liberating being able to watch every game and not break something when we lose because I truly believe we are capable of losing every game just as easily as winning one. Doesn't matter who the opponent is. We seem to be fighting ourselves as much as the opponent at times.
This team doesn't handle prosperity well. It seems this year the magic number is 7. There have been 50 times this year against a myriad of opponents where we take a 7 point lead and then instead of extending we turn the ball over on offense and play bad defense for multiple possessions. Then we sweat it out. It's basketball, I expect all teams to make a run, but too many times the run is predicated on bad shots, turnovers and blown defense. At least make the opponent earn their run, don't hand it to them. The only thing that can overcome our rebounding deficiency is smart play.

I don't know too much about gambling on men's basketball, but here it goes anyway: UConn opened as a 7.5 favorite (per sportsbookspy.com), but the line has shifted to -6 (depends on where you look) despite 55% of the tickets coming in on UConn. This suggests that more money came in on Rutgers on the 7.5.

While the RAC is a notoriously difficult venue, Rutgers is 8-6 there on the season. The home-court advantage is difficult to assess this year considering that Rutger's home attendance is putrid (you can see the BY ridicule on other threads). However, considering that it is UConn coming to town and not William and Mary's (4,026 "officially" in attendance), the attendance probably will be higher. Over 7,000 were in the RAC "officially" for Louisville.

Yet, despite this, Rutgers has managed to lose to Drexel (RPI: 113) by 11, William & Mary (177) by 10, Fairleigh Dickinson (192) by 1, Seton Hall (120) by 6, and Princeton (99) by 5 at home this season. It's hard to see the RAC playing the role that we are accustomed to seeing. Though they did cover +15 against UL at home, Rutgers is not a strong team at home, and it is hard to see them covering this number.

If we win, I won't be that sad to lose money in an account that is up for the year. And god willing I catch the beloved middle where uconn wins but rutgirls covers: I think that is a real possibility, and then I can congratulate myself on my genius after the game.

I have only bet on a UConn game once (generally, I can't do it for a variety of reasons). I parlayed UConn - 3.5 against Butler and the under (I think it was 127 IIRC) in 2011. Needless to say, it was a great night.

RU isn't bad, they just don't win……..Judge, Mack and Jack are all pretty talented as is Seagars……..just have to come to play and have to rebound the ball, keep the crowd out it as much as possible and early!
