UConn 2026 Outbound Portal Transfers (*No transfer speculation until announced/posted*)

That was a strange case to me. Look at his stats:

He had 7 or 8 tackles each in the first five games (except for Syracuse), 3 total sacks - and then he just stopped playing. Not sure if he was hurt, or benched, or what.
Parham and Diamonde were playing better, and once Parham got on the field full time he wasn't coming off.

I thought Smiley was very disappointing all year, but there wasn't anyone else on the roster capable of pushing him out of the starting lineup.

I agree. The OL, WR, DL, and LB rooms have definitely been bolstered. Would like to see another experienced TE, RB, and QB. I hope our K/P is good. We obviously keep missing on DBs and there really isn't anyone left worth convincing to come back except Molette. So, I imagine that is an area of focus at this point.
Perfect timing, Matt Ragan says hi :)

Really missed Gourdine and Stafford. Think a few guys coming in will be good replacements though.

At this point, I think we are going to be able to field a team next year. I’m sure we are going to continue to fill in. Also feel like there are 2 big commitments still out there. Go Huskies!

He's caught 1 pass in 4 years.
It’s called taking a flyer. It’ll cost us a scholarship. If the kid is able to overcome his injuries and returned to the form, that made him a four-star, we will both profit from it. Worst case scenario is he gives it one more shot and it doesn’t work out. Admire him for trying.

Turns out he played the bowl perfectly by not playing

He was able to say nobody would have beaten JF out, he had an historical year and was one of the best QB's in the country. Why screw that up by playing and exposing his bad self. He could also say he beat out JF last year but was stopped by injury

It was well played

To do what?
Looking at his UConn career from what I found, in 12 games he completed 107 passes out of 195 attempts for a 55% completion rate, 1023 total passing yards, 243 total rushing yards on 243 carries, 9.6 yards/completion, 3.0 yards rushing/carry, 6 passing TDs, 5 INTs, and 3 rushing TDs.

He's riding the pine at Mizz cuz those are back-up QB numbers...he certainly ain't a leading QB.

Just don't paint it as "Help has arrived".

Nobody said that. Tiger8mush just noticed that Ragan commitment coincidentally happened when CoachJ said he wanted an experienced TE. Don't think he was painting anything except timing was cute. C'mon man, it's the Honeymoon phase of program building, recruiting. They are all going to be All Americans. Live it up. Reality will be here soon enough!!

Article above makes it pretty clear Evers is QB3 -- a depth piece.

Not a bad gig for him. Get some cash, enjoy life as an SEC football player, have no real responsibility. Sounds like a great way to spend your senior year to be honest.
… and chase a MBA while coming out of college w/ near zero debt? Worked the current system pretty well.
