UConn 2026 Outbound Portal Transfers (*No transfer speculation until announced/posted*)

Some of these kids are going to find out the grass is always greener on the other side.
Playing time at UConn would be more available for some who transferred out.

Thinking the UConn kids heading to Colorado going to get PT. Some who are climbing the ladder will have some regrets. A lot of moves to P4 schools amongst our Husky defectors

Yuck, hate this one. Outside of Cam, thought Neider was the epitome of
Whenever a local kid has the opportunity to play up at the level you have to wish them nothing but the best of luck. I hope he succeeds.

Didn't wish him ill, just said I wished he'd have stayed. I'd say that is the ultimate compliment. Not really concerned how it goes for him from here. Got enough bandwidth for those Huskies, not alot left over for Portal Transfers from Storrs.

After several weeks of intense soul-searching and staring at my phone waiting for it to ring, I wanted to give everyone an update on my recruitment process.

First, I want to thank all the coaches who have not reached out. Your silence has given me plenty of time to catch up on Love Is Blind and perfect my sourdough starter. My hamstrings have never been more rested, mostly because they haven't seen a weight room in weeks.

The Stats (For those not paying attention—which is everyone):

  • Offers received: 0
  • DMs slid into: All of them.
  • Unread messages from Power 5 coaches: 0 (They’re very efficient at not hitting "send").
  • Current status: Looking for a program that values "potential" over "actual game film" and "vibes" over "measurable speed."

My Commitment to the Process:

I am still 1000% committed to myself. I am currently narrowed down to my Top 0 schools. To the fans: thank you for the support, even if that support is just my mom liking my highlight reel from three years ago.

Please respect my decision to continue refreshing my email every 14 seconds. #RespectMyJourney #please call me

I can’t make up my mind

After a whirlwind 48 hours of soul-searching, FaceTime calls with Coach, and staring intensely at a rainy windowpane, I have an update on my journey.

First, I want to thank the University again for the love. To the fans who sent me death threats when I left, then sent me Venmo requests for drinks when I came back, and are currently typing "Good riddance" in my mentions—you are the heartbeat of this program.

The Timeline of Gratefulness

  • Monday: I entered the portal to "explore all options" and "do what’s best for my family."
  • Tuesday: I realized the grass isn’t always greener, it’s just differently fertilized. I announced I was 1000% Committed to staying home. Unfinished business. Let’s work.
  • Today: After further prayer, meditation, and realizing the NIL collective at the school down the road just bought a new printer and some "unspecified incentives," I have decided to re-enter the Transfer Portal.

The "Respect My Decision" Checklist

As I embark on this second (well, technically third) once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, please remember:

  • God’s Plan: He apparently moves faster than my 40-yard dash, and He wants me to have a diversified portfolio.
  • It's Not About the Money: It’s about the valuation of my personal brand and the lifestyle upgrades necessary to maintain my focus on the classroom.
  • Recruitment Open: My DMs are open, but please note that "Interests" should be accompanied by a PDF of your collective’s most recent bank statement.
"I’m not looking for a handout, I’m looking for a home. One with a six-car garage and a very specific endorsement deal with a local car dealership. For real this time. Maybe."
Bet on yourself. Secure the bag. Always. 💰😤💯✌️

I was hoping that the local guys like Cam Edwards, Neider and/or Victor would have stayed. I’m surprised where Victor and John are going but hope they get playing time. It kind of reminds me of MBB where we used to rely on in-state talent but now recruit internationally.

How did I never catch that I taught this kid when he was in 4th grade?!?! I never even realized he was at UConn. Wow! Best of luck to him. Really great kid and family.
Neat. At Kingswood or in W Hartford system? Sad, our man Stinger says he’s no longer local since he’s heading to Worcester.

West Hartford public schools. I thought he went to Conard but guess he went to KO for high school.

By this logic, no local kids will play in the NFL MLB NBA or NHL and that is just S A D

Are they from CT? Yes. Are they from UConn? Not anymore. Do I root for players from CT that go to other schools out of high school? No I don’t.

Should they make the NFL, which school do you think will be displayed under their picture? It won’t have anything to do with UConn.

Growing up in Bridgeport, we had tremendous basketball talent, and the state was loaded. Many went elsewhere. But then many started staying or coming back. Is Burrell a CT guy? How about Gminski?

In this day and age I am contributing to NIL and their salaries. Did I invest in UConn so they could go to MSU? Not really. Pay to play and NIL has very much changed the game for me.

Not what you originally said and not my point

Can't get attached to any players or coaches. Since everyone is here to better themselves, my motto now is "go win my team games before you leave."

What we’re learning from this is that we absolutely had a P-4 level offense last year. Anyone who contributed is able to move up into the P-4 and presumably get more money. I just hope for a lot of these kids we are unable to match the money, and it’s not just Candle wanting to clean house. And I agree with an earlier post. Diomande, Lindbergh Coleman and Gilbert are now at the top of the list of those I’d like to see us make a real effort to retain.

I think Gilbert was in La recently at UCLA

Thought I saw Diomande committed somewhere, can’t find it tho

He hasn’t - he’s still conducting visits. Yesterday was planned to be Colorado State.
Any info whatsoever on retention interest or offers? Another poster thought it seemed weak or low interest. Feels like that, but who knows?

It doesn't appear that Candle is making much of an effort to retain our players in the portal. Only Tucker and Hicks have come back, backups at best. This may be his philosophy, if you aren't sure you want to be here then you are dead to me. Values loyalty. Could explain why he rarely lost a lot of Toledo players to the portal.

It would be a an extreme pleasant surprise if he decides to stay @ UConn. I’ll never say never but there is wide interest in his talent, he has an agent so his $$ value should be known and the coach who recruited him to UConn and who Oumar refers to as a second dad is now the Linebacker Coach @ Colorado State..
