UConn 2025 Outbound Transfers (Dec. 9th > 28th 2024 & April 16th > 25th 2025 Cycle) *No Speculation*

The portal doesn't officially open until the 9th? For undergrads. Most of these guys are merely signaling their intentions to get an early start on the process. And just because someone enters the portal it doesn't mean they are officially off the team. The rules around it all are still quite murky. But if Mora says they can play and they haven't signed somewhere else, than they should be able to play.

I spoke with one of the outgoing transfers and I know he plans on going to the bowl game. Announced it now to help get a head start on the process

Another reason most players who enter the portal don't play in the bowl game is the risk of injury in practice leading up to the game or during the game.

No different than in pro sports when teams put a player on the bench when they are working on trades.

He will probably get a decent bag from a school in a real conference, I hope he gets playing time and does well. More importantly, I hope the staff is ready to bring in someone very talented to replace his roster spot!

I hate to see Robinson go, but with some much talent in the backfield it was inevitable at least one of the four main guys would bounce.

Robinson was a weird situation I think. He was pretty highly recruited out of high school and most people were surprised he selected Charlotte. He turned down a few P4 programs. I want to say his coach got hired there but I might be confusing him with someone else. I never expected he would be a 3-4 year player. Be interesting to see how much interest there is at the nest level.

It's not just us. P4 players are portalling every day. My advice is don't get invested into the portal season unless you really want to torture yourself. Wait and see what it looks like when its done before you draw any conclusions.

If you need some positive vibes, remember the sky was supposedly falling when Justin Joly portalled. As it turned out, our wide receiver room ultimately upgraded this season. Be patient and trust the staff.

I'm pretty confident that as long as they haven't yet enrolled in their new school (technically they have until the spring semester begins in January) they would be eligible.

From there, it would come down to the player wanting to remain through the bowl game and the coach (Mora) being willing to keep them on the roster (which he claims he is).

There is the possibility that the new school would prefer the player did not risk injury (assuming a commitment that hasn't been announced happened).

Wasn’t long ago Robinson was saying how much he loved coach Mora. I believe he was sincere. Weird times when other forces dictate these types of decisions.

He does love him but in this current system he knows his true value and he only has so much time to trade up.

Durrell Robinson had a terrific season. The yards per carry number is no joke. Don’t know whether his plan is just to auction himself or he wants a shot at the P4, but I’ll miss him and I wish him well.

Having said that, I spent all year wishing Cam Edwards would get more carries so ….
