He would be a big loss.Oh well we did fine without him for most of the yr. no big loss.

he's 1 head injury from retiring. He would be a big loss.
And I thought that the portal was closed. I didn't realize that UConn players have additional days to enter or re-enter, in Pryce's case, after a bowl game. Shame on me for praising him in another thread.Yates thanks for the sacks on Saturday but don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
I think the issue is that once he withdrew from the portal no other school can contact him (without violating the rules). And I thought that the portal was closed. This system needs to change. Only way is to have a collective agreement with the players or perhaps tie NIL to a certain period of time.Yates thanks for the sacks on Saturday but don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Given how unregulated the NIL market is there is a chance that the team that enticed Yates out could change their minds.I think the issue is that once he withdrew from the portal no other school can contact him (without violating the rules).
His reentry, which logically was because someone saw him in the bowl game and decided he was worth adding to their roster, is the result of a school (or schools) breaking the rules by contacting him and inquiring what it would take.
I don't blame the kid (although I would have preferred it if he did not reach an agreement, then jump at a better offer) but this is now turning bowl games into talent showcases for NIL money.
Karma. This system needs to change. Only way is to have a collective agreement with the players or perhaps tie NIL to a certain period of time.

No intent to harm the program? Pryce literally came back and took a spot from someone mora and Co could have used on someone in the portal.Just root like heck for them while they're here, wish them the best when they leave (presuming there is no intent to harm the program on the way out the door, and there hasn't been with any of them). Mora will do what he can to continue to make chicken salad out of the chicken ---- situation left by the current regulations/judgments (or lack thereof); I'll be back in my seat come the fall cheering like hell for whoever is there.
And don’t stand next to him on Fenway Bowl podium and echo Mora’s brotherhood sentiments. Then do this two days after. If Yates wants to back out of his recommitment to the program that's fine. Just dont put Moras name in your goodbye tweet because you clearly dont respect the man as much as you should.

Yes, I don’t believe there are any binding documents like a National Letter of Intent(how quaint)This system needs to change. Only way is to have a collective agreement with the players or perhaps tie NIL to a certain period of time.

Once regulations on NIL are in place, i.e. players are employees, it will do away with all this nonsense and create a different set of nonsense for us to wrap our heads around.
When he re-committed.. does that mean he withdrew from the portal officially? Or do they need to do something formal like go to transferportal dot com and click a "withdraw" button type of thing that attests they have officially withdrawn from the portal with like a time and date stamp/audit trail attached to it?I think the issue is that once he withdrew from the portal no other school can contact him (without violating the rules).

This is some scummy school doing the call afterwards which is illegal and I hope Mora names names if it continuesWhen he re-committed.. does that mean he withdrew from the portal officially? 28th was not the last day, portal closes 5 days after the bowl game so on January 2Hearing that schools are calling our players after the game and offering, that is an issue. Now I know the 28th was the last day, but this is BS and why things need to change in the portal.
5 days from their bowl, but they have to put themselves into the portal. It’s my understanding that didn’t happen, which is why JM is upset.28th was not the last day, portal closes 5 days after the bowl game so on January 2
Yes. There are many past players I can think of in FB, MBB, and WBB (for example) who I consider Huskies forever — regardless of their success here and after, they honored their commitment to the school/program and stuck with it.as i said before, stop telling these kids - erm... MEN - that they're "huskies forever" on twitter and stuff, when they post their basic ahh "goodbye" announcement - they're really not huskies forever. They could care less about husky nation.
JM is a husky forever, in my book. Even with his new contract he's still being underpaid for his experience IMO and probably could grab a mid-P4 job at this point, which would put him in the $5-8M/year range. But he stayed (hoping that stays the case thru 2028).
