Also, five AAC teams are now in the top 50 RPI:

East Carolina - 7
UConn - 8
Wichita State - 19
South Florida - 31
Central Florida - 46

With both AAC Florida schools now in the top 50, UConn now has a record of 7-3 against schools in the RPI top 50.

St Johns just outside the Top 50 at #54, which would bump us up to 9-4.

Cart before the horse (I know), but...

Does the Selection Committee consider facilities when they choose their Regional Hosts?

There is no way a regional would be held in Storrs with our current facilities.

I checked this a few days ago. Hartford is not available the first weekend in June, as I believe the Yard Goats are at home that weekend. Remember, in 2010 UConn hosted the first round of the NCAA's in Norwich at Dodd Stadium, and the games drew very well that weekend. I think Dodd Stadium might be available, as the Connecticut Tigers don't start play until mid June.

I was wondering this myself. Dodd Stadium is quite nice in its own right, and it would be cool to return there.

Today is a big game. We can easily mail this one in, knowing we still had a successful week. Then again, perhaps this team enjoys their high RPI and will fight like hell to stay there. I am curious to see how we play today.

Interesting. Thank you!

Even when facilities are upgraded I could still see ncaa having more of an appetite to play games at larger minor league venues. Both Norwich and Hartford will draw and seat more than the new proposed JoC.

Is there anyway the state can work with the Yard Goats and the Eastern League to arrange for DD Park to be open that weekend?

Maybe the Yard Goats can play at Dodd?

So you want Yard Goat season ticket holders who have already paid for their seats in Hartford to go to games in Norwich just so on the chance UConn might play in Hartford that weekend? It's not going to happen, and I doubt either the Hartford Yard Goats or the Connecticut Tigers would want to do this either.

Edit: Full disclosure, I'm a Connecticut Tiger season ticket holder.

ECU vs USF. ECU is down 1 run in the T6. USF has men one first and second, no outs.

Edit: failed sac bunt attempt. 1st and 2nd, 1 out

Edit: Strike out swinging. 1st and 2nd, 2 outs

Edit: Foul out to RF. No runs scored

End 6: USF leads ECU 4-3. It’s is downpouring, wouldn’t be surprised to see a delay

Edit: Game is in delay. ECU announcers say the storm cell is sizeable. USF’s curfew is 4:00

This league is unforgiving.

Looks like a 5 bid league. Crazy with Houston and Tulane being down this year. Pretty good for a G5 conference.

With the exception of its first season in 2014, the AAC in baseball has always gotten 3 or 4 bids for the NCAA tourney, and with that there always seems to be an AAC team or two left on the bubble to argue over. Pretty good for a conference with 8 or 9 teams. For baseball, it is a strong conference. Coach Penders was certainly right when he said that for baseball the AAC was definitely an improvement over the old Big East.

What is the reason UConn fans want to move out of the AAC. The AAC has a couple good or great teams in each sport. UConn’s facilties are not ready for another conference yet. Why not continue to build the league like they did with the Big East?

According to the WHUS announcers the wind is blowing toward the right field line today. Any fly ball to left will probably be knocked down.

Big reason is MONEY when compared to the P5 schools.

Off the top of my head... Travel to away games is miserable. No traditional rivals. Opponents aren't big name schools that people want to see. We have no meaningful TV revenue and thus will struggle to keep up with the P5 teams spending. Recruiting is harder. In money sports AAC isn't respected (e.g. NCAA Tournament bids, and UCF's undefeated season.)

Top 1st, Susi single drives in Prato to make it 1-0 UConn. Prato had reached 3B on an error in his at bat when no one had covered the base.

We'll find out how the papaya does with temperatures in the 40's.

The Papaya may be the best thing that ever happened to UCONN Baseball.
