Phil Gamble was probably the first prolific 3 point shooter in UConn history. Brian Fair was another solid shooter. Albert Mourning was decent. Not a ton of guys during the 90’s besides the obvious(Ray and Rip) as those teams relied on running and solid inside games for most of the offense.
Red Auerbach liked Giscombe. Too bad Dom preferred Bobby Dulin. Perno was just a horrible coach.
And Dulin was not a good dude.

And a little earlier it was 34-9. They scored the first 4 points of the 2nd half then UConn suddenly woke up.
Cannot help that - and I really like watching him play- he wasn't a starter much after his Soph year so volume of shooting wasn't there in Junior/Senior year
Agreed - didn't shoot a lot of volume 3s but then Chris Smith came in and was their SG and shot a lot more 3's with better pct.
If my memory serves me, wasn't his shot quirky, where he had very little rotation?
That game sucked. I went too. The biggest issue I had with it was the arena looked like Gampel during Ollie’s last year. They weren’t a good team and their fans knew it. Still, we blew it.
I don’t believe the list was about great overall players it was about great 3 point shooters. And he certainly was one of the best we ever had.
Rip averaged 2.3 3s per game…,,1/2 more than Fair. Hardly that distinguishable. Fair also made more 3s per game than Kemba or Shabazz. Easily ( Kemba averaged 1.1) He belongs on the list no matter how you want to try and data mine. It’s really not arguable, he was every bit the 3 point specialist that Rashad was he just wasn’t involved in very many big games or clutch spots.
