3rd Qtr UConn 11 UCF 8. An ugly quarter of Basketball. Stevens 3 Rebounds despite her extended minutes of play. She doesn't like to mix it up down low to take advantage of her size.

Looks absolutely ridiculous. If the kid needs/wants shorter shorts, get them properly altered.
 
Too bad Z can't dunk when she's standing under the basket, she missed a few bunnies.
 
Crazy that we need the starters this deep into the game to beat UCF, thought we'd have Lou and Gabby out for the game by now
 
Lou is within a missed technical free throw of matching UCF's total after a full 3 quarters of play. Has it ever happened that one player has done that? I'm sure somewhere....

I know I’m a glass half full person but I think tonight is good. With UCF trying to slow the game and UConns PG on the bench, the Huskies have struggled to score at times but they are clearly in charge of this game. It’s very physical but UConn is dominating. And I like Megs play tonight, she’s progressing beautifully.

I know it’s ugly but sometimes you just need to tough out a win. This game will pay off in the post season
 
Does anyone know what Z is yelling when she's defending the in bounds?
 
Should've been doing that all night. Collier and Stevens should be dominating this game.
 
We cannot finish on this end of the court. And then we do!

Just curious, did Crystal play in the first game where they scored less in the first half of that game? Although they certainly can use her... For sure.

Wow. Z has missed a ton of “bunnies” or so it seems... If UConn makes even half of the two-footers, they’d have at least another ten points.
 
Is it me, or does the UCF point guard look like she's wearing a diaper?

Would like to see team match up against UCF in the AAC tournament. This is a good team to face before the NCAA's. They play tough defense which they'll face in the tournament. The only disadvantage to playing UCF they don't have the size that Baylor and Miss St have.
 
Note to posters - there is a difference between criticizing a play/player and just bitching and moaning. One is a valid point of discussion and the other is annoying in large doses.
 
There are two reasons UConn's total is so low:
  1. UCF holds the ball 25 - 30 seconds every possession. Okay, fine, good defense clinic for UConn, and they are doing extremely well.
  2. UConn missing hundreds of easy shots. They are not missing contested jumpers. They are missing open layups time and time again. I am amazed (and unhappy).
 
I would have thought the bench would have come in earlier. Especially Kyla :eek:

Ball, Ball, Ball - Defensive communication. The defensive person on the ball calls it out and it gives the other defensive players knowledge as to where the ball is when their back is turned to it.
 
This is the kind of shooting performance that will get you knocked out of the NCAA tournament. I posted earlier this week about how essential Crystal is to overcoming the issues that the Huskies have against this kind of team. Kia has been great on defense, but is not longer even trying to run the point tonight.
 
If you want to beat UConn this is certainly one way to try to do it. Grind the game down and reduce number of possessions UConn has on offense.
