UCF Game Thread

It would not surprise me if UCONN just started pounding it into the low block. UCF hasn’t stopped it much when we’ve done that. Mix that with a continued attack at the arc. HCGA doesn’t need my advice. Rather, this is what I think he’s telling them.

Kia and Gabby need to start doing what Collier did last game. Start giving a head or shoulder fake when underneath the basket or when driving for a layup when closely guarded. They would be wide open for a put back. IMO, if there was going to be a substitution right before the half it should not have been for Z. She may have missed a defensive assignment but UCONN could have used her as a go to for a last second shot because UCF could not handle her.

I think UConn is going to play much better and faster in the second half. The shooting might not get better, but I think their effort will.
Transition buckets. They've had opportunities but have missed a lot of point blank shots, some of that because of the physical game.

Sounds about right. The "pound it into the paint", that is.

Hope Geno didn't yell at the players too badly during half time. Geno: "we look like a bunch of high schoolers out there."

Wow, No warmup by UConn. I'm sure Geno had some choice things to say at the half

Very well coached; excellent facilities; strong sports (great FB team - undefeated this year); huge school in Disneyland's back yard. Give Coach Abe a couple of years and watch out for these guys.

Nykesha Sales handles the Scout against UConn. Insider info.

The passing is better but Crystal traveled. She's been dragging her feet a lot this year

Again, not showing patience on offense to start the half.

UConn is allowing UCF to continue to score in the midrange. Again, where's UConn's patience on offense?

Geno turns with his hands out in the wrong direction. Had to turn back to his left to find the coaches.

UConn settles for way too many jump shots early in the shot clock! Run your stuff.
