There's a few, like Milaysia for one. Harmon before her knee injury was another. I'd include Jasmine Bascoe on Villanova. And what guards are as quick as Hannah?

That's 2, can't count Harmon anymore. But the point was compared to K9, and I agree you have named two. The question now is how many are as quick and as good or better than KK or K9. Not many, but surprise me, I have an open mind. Bone Dog I agree Bascoe is going to be elite. Milaysia is another story, super quick, sometimes too quick at times out running the ball. If her new coach gets her under control, she could be the best point in WCBB.There's a few, like Milaysia for one. Harmon before her knee injury was another. I'd include Jasmine Bascoe on Villanova.

You don't need to defend Kayleigh or KK from me. The point of my comment was not to diminish either of them. I think very few guards will play better defense than either of them, and that's the main job for Geno, as far as I can tell. They will provide the quickness at PG to help carry this team to a few more NCs. Being the quickest is not the most important thing, as Hannah, Milaysia and Rori have amply demonstrated -- none of them has been enough to carry a team to an NC. What matters is to "do your job" (to quote Bill Belichek) on a team where everyone does their jobs. This is what KK knows how to do, and Ash, and the rest of them, and Kayleigh will find her place right next to all of them. She looks like a kid who knows how to do the job assigned to her.But the point was compared to K9, and I agree you have named two. Yes. But HH struggled somewhat down the stretch last season into March as the drama in South Bend created a schism at ND with several key players leaving for greener pastures (Miles, Koval, Watson & Risch). It will be interesting to see how HH leads a newly reconstituted Irish team without the same level of talent as this past season.
Tough is the key word for any UConn player, and Kayleigh is definitely a member of that tribe. The last two seasons, Geno has blessed us with the 'Havoc Twins.' Next season, I wonder if we'll ever get to see the 'Terror Triplets': Kayleigh, KK and Ash on the court together.Kayleigh has a nice stop and pop game. She had some good and bad moments in the matchup with France. But overall, I can't wait to see her playing for UConn this season. Kayleigh has a lot of potential. Plus, she is tough.
Moriah Jefferson!! She was unbelievable!! Still is!And what guards are as quick as Hannah?
Yes the US actually faced a much tougher defensive team.Hall deserves a lot of credit for that game. I don’t think the US wins without her.
Jazzy really struggled in this game. And jerzy barely played. The game was a lot different than all of the other games the US has played so far at this event.
It was never my intention to infer or seem to defend either of the players to you. I was just stating my case in in re: to the 2 players. We certainly seem to share our thoughts on the 2 players. If you took umbridge to my post my apology. You don't need to defend Kayleigh or KK from me. The point of my comment was not to diminish either of them. To make my point even more clearly, ND beat UConn early this season, and Hannah scored 29. But it was almost entirely the result of a sizzling hot streak from 3 pt land. She shot 8 for 17 overall, but 6 of 11 from 3. Take away the hot streak and ND probably doesn't win that game, especially if Azzi had been available. The fact is KK and Kaitlyn took away Hannah's drives to the rim -- she only made 2 FGs from inside the arc and shot 2 for 6. They were quick enough and followed the scout carefully enough to shut her down. Also worth observing that KK and Kaitlyn combined for 21 points on 10 for 18 shooting. Is Hannah a better scorer than KK or Kayleigh? Yes. But that doesn't mean she's a more useful player. The platoon of KK and Kayleigh will be just what Geno needs.
No umbridge or umbrage taken. That’s the professor in me, always distinguishing useless stuff. I’ll happily take the villain from harry potter off your hands. It was never my intention to infer or seem to defend either of the players to you. Gee, my bad I thought we were talking about college players.Moriah Jefferson!! She was unbelievable!! Still is!
Love it, auto correct bites me again, as usual I take the easy way. Just for grins I hated that Bitch, I guess that means she played her part extremely well. Have a great day.No umbridge or umbrage taken. That’s the professor in me, always distinguishing useless stuff. I’ll happily take the villain from harry potter off your hands.![]()
Second the prediction of "best PG combo" for BOTH offense and defense. Kayleigh, once she gets used to UConn's style and her teammates, will likely react more quickly in all facets of the game. She plays solid defense and has the size to not get into mismatches from pick and roles.Bottom line is NO ONE can replace Paige. Just look at what she's doing in the W. It's not by accident. It was like trying to replace Sue, Diana, Maya, Stewie, etc. It will be done by committee. And with the amount of talent on the team, combined with improvements from everyone coming back, WATCH OUT!
As @oldude pointed out, even tho they aren't getting national attention, I feel KK and Kayleigh will be the best PG combo in the nation. Then we have the sophomore leap for Sarah, the addition of Serah, and the junior leap for Ash. Boom. Starting 5 potentially of KK, Azzi, Ash, Sarah, Serah. Best quintet in the nation.
The scoring will come from all over. I suspect Sarah and Azzi will be between 18-20 PPG on average. Serah will probably average over 10 PPG. Maybe 13 or so. I could see Ash around 10 PPG. Then bring in the next group - Kayleigh, Morgan, Caroline, Blanca and Jana. Yikes.
I suspect Q4 will be dominated by Kelis, Allie, Ice, Ayanna and Gandy. you could move some up from group 3 to group 2, but bottom line is that Geno will have 15 players who, by skill and effort, "demand" playing time. I could see the team easily averaging 90+ PPG. I just hope, in fairness to the players lower on the depth chart, that Geno lets them play hard, intense, and score on fast breaks whenever they get one.
This is one of those seasons where I don't care about running up the score. I don't think we need to full court press the entire game, but pretty much all of Q1, half of Q2, and all of Q3. If opponents complain, too bad. IMHO it's not fair to decrease scoring opportunities for reserves because the other team is overmatched.![]()
