U19 World Championship Gold Medal Game 2:30 USA vs Australia

Assuming US wins by 30+, what has happened to the Australia team from the 2019 U19? I don't think the US team is much better so it must be the Australia team has dropped alot? Any reasons?

The American team is playing much more coherent BB
Along with a lot of talent
And in the case of Clark...college experience.

Another game with the mute button. Silence the horn! This isn't European soccer.

Whst are you saying?, they are different teams, different age groups.

Are we allowed to speculate the role Covid has played? Australia is in serious lock down.

I am looking for a better understanding why the 2019 U19 game between Australia and US was much closer and competitive in comparison to the likely 20+ point rout by the US in 2021. Different teams but same age groups.

US had alot of talent in 2019 including Paige, Hailey Van Lith, Boston, Howard but I guess I see the following improvements in US thinking about it

1) Much better 3pt shooting
2) More dominant post play in terms of post offense due to better spreading of the floor.

But does that explain the huge differential? Has the Australia team regressed?

Well, I thought the lockdown has been only during the last few months. Before that when this current team was formed and training, Australia was a veritable COVID free zone with the population free to do anything except travel abroad (lots of restrictions but possible) ??

Is there a way to see the game for free, or is it only PPV?

In 2019 the USA smacked Aus in pool play, met them in the final again and only won because of flailing elbow by anstey late in the game giving free throws away and the ball back. Went to o.t and dominated.

in 2021 I don’t think it will be the same, usa by 30

For 7 bucks you can watch the game. Is the game worth it?
Huck Finn said that the sermon was free and worth it. Surely this is worth as much as a sermon. Oh, wait, it is.
Later today you can watch the low-lights . . .

According to the below FIBA-linked website, you can stream the game for $2.50
Did anyone use this "U19 Women's World Cup Pass" to watch the semi's?

You better pay $6.99 for one month ESPN+.

How much does ESPN+ cost? You can get an ESPN+ subscription for $6.99 per month, or save over 15% with an ESPN+ Annual Plan at $69.99 per year. You can also bundle ESPN+ with Disney+ and Hulu for $13.99 per month.

I'm curious how many of the 2021 U19 Aussie players received/accepted D-1 offers. Anyone know?
The 2019 team had at least 8: Jaz Shelley (Oregon/Nebraska), Miela Goodchild (Duke), Lily Scanlon (Gonzaga), Agnes Emma-Nnopu (Stanford), Gemma Potter (UCLA), Ula Motuga (Wash. St.), Alexandra Fowler (Portland), and Isobel Anstey (UCLA).

The one and only time I paid for a PPV event was for Ali/Frazier 1 in 1971!!!
The only PPV (actually theater TV) I ever paid for was the first Liston/Patterson fight.
We got to the theater just as the fight was beginning. By the time we found our seats,
sat down and looked up, the fight was over.

Not a good investment.

Hungary beat Mali for 3rd place 88-67
