Most of the kids transferring are doing so looking for playing time. He’s transferring out of 40 minutes a game, into a highly competitive situation with a top 50 recruit who was on the cover of slam at his position. Also a number of other forwards and big guards who he’d have to compete with. In addition he’s also wanting to play immediately rather than sitting a year for a better situation. He had to be made well aware that he would have to earn minutes. This takes extraordinary self confidence for a 20 year old. You have to respect it.

To confirm, Tyrese and the staff are indeed working towards a waiver for the 2020 season?

What. A. Roster.
Confirmed. See this post.

Is this our most complete team top to bottom ever? Seems like there’s not much falloff in talent with our 2nd team.
Good potential. We are getting the talent and depth back where it needs to be but "ever?" No chance. They need to prove something on the court before they are even in the conversation with many of our past teams since 1990. The 2004 team was insane for example. Right now, theoretically, we have a great chance to take a giant leap forward this year and be a top 20 team again and have the chance to make some noise in the tourney. Those are the only expectations I have.

Time will tell, right? And how are we defining talent? NBA tenure or eye test with nostalgia for the 90s?

Don't be daft. We don't need time.

I mean, if you're asking for teams that are balanced top to bottom, there are a ton of them that are more balanced than this team, no matter how much we're excited for it.

1990
1994
1995
1996
1999
2002
2004
2009

All, on the face of it, had better balance with multiple ball handlers, interior presence and depth. I'd add 2006 as well, though I'd hear the argument against them since they were missing the necessary second ball handler.

And I'm even being generous in not putting 2011 and 2014 here since I'm taking a broad definition of "balance."

2012 was loaded too and this years team though nice on paper are all question marks outside of Bouknight

Maybe most balanced in that the first five's talent is not too dissimilar to the second five's. But not close to the most talented top to bottom.

2004, for example, had 2 future lottery picks not starting, and a first rounder suspended from the team... not to mention another late first rounder, a second rounder and the 2nd and 3rd overall picks...

Can we please let these kids play a dozen games before we anoint them individually as the next MJ and the team as the next national champion?
The lineup is solid but geez...…………………….

I agree with that. Like many have said we need to see them play first, but “on paper” it seems like our 2nd 5 are nearly as solid as our starting 5, whatever line up that may be.

Was Charlie V really only ranked 18th coming out of high school? I thought I remembered him being top 5 with Deng both out of the same prep in jersey.

Id put that team against any team in the last 30 years and like my chances. I think they even have a chance of beating UNLV 90`
