Tyler Dorsey Has a Final 6--no uconn

I'm disappointed in the BY rank and file. This post - clearly demonstrating the complete lack of vision of this young man, and his lack of spatial ability to find his way to Mecca - has been up for almost 2 hours and nobody has posted "next" yet.
Is it Saturday already?

Tyler Dorsey is an idiot.

good i heard he was 20 already

Born 02/14/1996, so that makes him 18 and will enter college at age 19, like many kids/players do. No different than Napier, Brimah, Facey, etc...

A lot of hate for an 18 year old kid. He didn't visit here. No big deal, so why is everyone hating on the kid? He's a talented player. Bitter grapes.

The people calling him an idiot are just kidding. I've been consistent with never wanting him at UConn, just don't like his game or upside, I'm sure he's a nice kid.

Where is gods name would tyler dorsey get minutes on our roster. samuel and cassell are simply better than him. not bringing up adams. i said weeks ago , go to oregon or Colorado bruh

.-.
i do secretly hold it and it says he isnt commited to uconn so i no longer give a fack

So if Dorsey would have to committed to UConn, you'd still not like him? He's basically a 5 star recruit by most services. Some say he wants to be a PG & many say he's more of a 2G, either way, he'd still get minutes at UConn and would probably compliment J.A. well in the backcourt since both can handle the ball & score. He's a skilled player. I can pick out the posters joking. Jaybo does the "hate him" but he doesn't attack him personally. Some others go to far. I didn't end up at the college I originally thought I'd go to, nobody hated or attacked me for it. These are 17-19 yo kids.

Abu was my guy last summer. I was bummed he didn't chose UConn. I didn't feel the need to bash him.

And that makes you one scary dude for stalking an 18 yo male....

I know he's ranked highly, I just don't like his game. I wouldn't be pissed off per say but I only would use another guard scholarship for Newman or Briscoe but it looks like the Briscoe ship has probably sailed. Enoch, Jones or Clarke, Stone......Newman would be gravy.

This thread is childish. A lot of people acting like the Kentucky fans I saw after Stone cut them.

I think he's a very good player & he had a solid summer. He knows how to score & attack, keeping defenses on their feet. I'd be happy with him & he'd be a nice LA-Area connection. He'd probably duplicate some other players we currently have, but he does have talent, so no need to attack his game. We can only have so many attacking guards. He doesn't fill an immediate need. I'm not clamoring for him on the team & he probably sees several players who are similar enough, so hence he cut UConn. It just doesn't make his game bad & he's evaluated UConn. Newman would bring another element since he's a pure shooter. He'd probably compliment J.A. better. It's all about fit. I don't think we need Dorsey or Newman since we're solid there with Purvis & Cassell.

This recruiting period I have Stone, Enoch, Clarke, Jones, Baptiste ahead of any other guard, since a scoring guard is not something we need right now (yup, my opinion). Doesn't make any of those guards bad... that's my rambling point! ;)

I'm not saying his game is bad and I'm not saying I don't like his game because he just cut us. I've seen the kid play a few times in person and I just don't like his game, I've been saying this for a year. Not attacking the kid, hope he picks the right school for himself and has a great career. Don't know why you are so hung up on me not liking his game.

I guess I missed those posts. I also guess I don't know why people insult kids/players when they eliminate UConn, not just you. You could always elaborate why you don't like his game.

I didn't think I was insulting the kid when I say I don't like his game. Okay here are some reasons I don't like his game, remember I'm not insulting him as a person. He's a pretty good shooter but I didn't like his decision making in the games I saw him in, I wouldn't exactly say his play was selfish he just didn't do a good job of getting his teammates involved. He has a good handle and can create his shot well but he's a pretty average athlete with not much of a basketball body, short arms. Basically I think he's pretty much maxed out on his potential. Jalen Adams is rated at least 10 spots below him and he's already clearly a better player in my opinion and has much more upside. Again, I'm not attacking Tyler Dorsey the person these are just my opinions on him basketball wise.

Beasley? I think that ship may be leaving port but I'm a fan of his game after going over some tape (not highlights). Your thoughts?

As for Dorsey (and Briscoe), I think once Adams committed they both fell on the wish list quite a bit. Both are combos who want to be PGs but have somewhat limited athleticism (IMO). Dorsey's a better shooter and Briscoe finishes better (from what I have seen). Don't get me wrong, I think either would be nice and both can be very good college players, but they just aren't as big a need position.

IMO, Beasely is more of a two (and he knows it). Newman may want to play the 1 some but he's also just very, very good.
