Agree. Who knows, but definitely my assumption based on stories that he was an all time hated racist no-good etc. is likely wrong.

Thanks, G0. I think this article is closer to the truth. I'm sure you heard that Cobb was loaded post-baseball due to shrewd investing. He was in on GM and Coke early. I heard he supported many destitute ball players over the years.

There's a lot of revisionist history in sports for whatever reasons. Consider the timing Ty Cobb was painted as evil and how he was considered evil. I do know he got along very well with Babe Ruth.
