Tunes you digging right now

I was at the Eagles show but wasn't it Eagles, Heart and Little River Band. On a very hot summer day, great show.
Cars were at one of the shows....

And the Google says it was Beach Boys Sun Fest, 1979. Indeed, Heart with Eagles.

After Sun Fest we went to Marshall Tucker (not a big fave) at the Coliseum that night. That was between HS and college for me. Mom was none too happy with my condition upon arriving home. 18 legal!!

Nanna's looking a bit haggard these days. I still remember her and Rag being like them real-life pixies from back when I saw them in 2013.

Saw Los Lobos at Mohegan's Wolfden last night. 50 years. Same guys. Still kick ass. My 9th LL show. My videos are too large to post here. So here's a pic. Nice tribute to their buddy Bob Weir with "West LA fadeaway" and "bertha". Songs they've been playing for decades.

They still kick ass all this time later. My favorite show was on the pier in NYC when La Bomba had just hit ,#1. Really hot for the band that night. " How will the wolf survive?" Still holds up.

Smithereens were the pretty good opening band that night.

Yes!!! My first LL show was also '87 at greatwoods... Smithereens opened!! The last two times I saw them they opened for Tedeschi Trucks and also Bruce Hornsby so it wasn't a LL crowd but Saturday night was great with the open floor crowded with actual (older) fans like me still boogieing. LoL

Heard one of their songs on Sirius XM this morning. Made a mental note of the band name but not the song. Sampled several tonight, not even sure which one it was. I think I like this the best of what I listened to. Wait til around 1:30 ish for it to really kick in.

I hear Cranberries influence.

Very welcome bonus of the greatly missed Karl Wallinger following your song!

Well the singer is pretty, so there's that. I'll need to check them out. An all girl Irish band, and some of them wear dresses. Interesting. As @storrsroars said, maybe a bit of Cranberries, which is a good thing, not that you can replicate Dolores.

Los Lobos was and is still a great band. Only Grateful Dead opener I ever went into the show for. "Last Night I Got Loaded" was the theme song of my off campus house in West Willington senior year 😎

Great cover of Rod Stewart and the Faces song from way back when:

This just reminded me - a couple days ago there was an old video in my feed of Fanny doing "Hey Bulldog". They were way ahead of their time as far as being an uber-talented female rock band. Should've been bigger.

I definitely thought that too. Although other than "Zombie" the Cranberries were pretty mellow as far as what I've heard from them.

I used to own a couple of CDs of theirs and it was a mix. There are several vids from their performances on Letterman that rock out, like Promises, I Just Shot John Lennon, and even Free to Decide. Promises might be my 2nd favorite tune of theirs.

Remember. A nod is as good as a wink to a blind horse.🐎
