How does Saniya miss that?

I have a feeling that Geno may have some choice words for them at the end of the 1st quarter.

How does Lou let at 5'9" guard box her out on that rebound?

Oh boy! Another crappy first quarter with missed shots and missed lay ups. They will shake it off..

Broadcast team: Ragged 1st quarter.

Shots are not dropping: 33%.

Don't know about that, because they're getting open shots, just missing horrendously. Yelling isn't going to improve that. Defense isn't bad, ball movement is good. They're just missing everything.

South Carolina has got to be licking their chops. If we start like this against them, we're down 15 after 1.

Baskets in the paint
Tulsa 1
UConn 5

Maybe no more of these early afternoon games?

The defense wasn't so bad that quarter. Twice they let Dixon open to shoot 3's instead of forcing her inside. Glad she missed one. A few times the smaller guards beat both Saniya and Kia off the dribble. UConn making a more concerted effort on the boards. The team missed open shots and were sluggish on offense. That will change. I think Lou was 1 for 10 that quarter.

UConn 1 for 10 on 3's.

Another putrid start for UConn. They are forming a point of contrast, so that when they turn on the afterburners in the minutes just ahead, the difference between putrid and excellent will be clearer to the less aware fans.

2 straight turnovers for UConn in the paint.

Now that is better. Get the ball inside. Forget the 3's.

Meg: "Sometimes you've gotta just change your mojo." ;)

UConn leaving more people inside to rebound.

Lou another miss in the paint. 2 for 12.

Wonder if Williams is in the dog house? She's been on the bench since she missed her 3rd free throw.

Announcers said Lou looks mad. We'll see how that translates.

UConn picking Dixon up on the perimeter and it forced a turnover. Lou 2 for 13.

This is a great game for UConn. Absolutely nothing's falling. Lou's nearly in tears. They have to pull from experience, defense, hustle. this is really great. just what they need.

Remember that terrible game last year for Kia, where she broke down emotionally, and Geno called her out, not for her play but for her emotional reaction? And then she played terrifically after that? Geno's watching this group closely, and they'll learn a lot from it.

I have not seen Lou this cold. But shooters keep on shooting.

Dangerfield just sees Collier so well off the pick and roll. Lou almost missed another gimme layup.
