Makes perfect sense to me. Always did. In a post AQ world, would rather have dropped Boise and SDSU in favor of Tulane and Tulsa. No point in going west of Dallas.

this must be why the bball schools wanted to disolve. what they must have known is that lville and or uconn are gone and that the big east is going to be cusa basically so they want to split ways. if tulane is on board, then ecu/smiss and others will be also.

Makes sense for both parties outside of the fact the Big East may not even exist. It seems to be reforming the best parts of C-USA. Although I'm a bit suprised Tulane would not just let the dust settle a little first. I suppose its either join what's there (Memphis, Houston, etc...) and that's a step up or get kicked out with everyone else when the whole thing falls apart. Can't be any worse off.

Really surprising both ways. Other than academics, why Tulane over La Tech for Big East? And if you are Tulane, why not see what happens to ACC first? If they lose 6 or 8, Tulane could be in a league with Duke and Wake. Strange.
