According to reports from muliple Big 12 people, UCONN is out of expansion consideration. It looks like a terrible football team and a fan base that can't be bribed to attend home games doomed the Connies. Word from the Connie "fans" is that the school gave away 23,000 free tickets this week in hopes of getting 30,000 in the stands.

There is all sorts of "reports" about Big 12 expansion, who is in and who is out.

My guess is that none of these reports have any basis in fact. Just more BS.
 
Yes, but this past week multiple people are reporting this similar thing. So maybe there is something to it, but who knows. The latest that likely not likely to go to 4 almost makes it definite UConn is out.

I agree with the likelihood they don't even expand.

You really think a guy who has no FB picture posting on the conversation board on ESPN is accurate. No. We're fine, the only other source saying we are out is the Dude. Stop panicking. Not only that, his comment on attendance is obviously false. We sold more than 7000 tickets.
 
Btw, that dude now has 22 likes, so I am betting funny business is going on (also notice all the spam posts that reply to his posts).

Thamel was on Joe D & Gresh and basically said all his sources say UConn is out because 4 team expansion likely done and UConn is outside the top 2

Who knows honestly, my expectations are low, would be a pleasant surprise

This is true. They only expected 7,000 for this home game against the ACC's UVA. The invitation was signed, sealed and stamped until the Big 12 saw a few empty rows at The Rent and reneged. Great find.

I think the football only has legs. Limited payout, Fox gets UConn into BE for hoops, create some scheduling thing where UConn will play 3-4 b12 games yearly home and away

If his reports were true. I don't know what I would feel worse about. The fact that we were rejected by the Big12 or that I am one of the few people that actually paid for my ticket. I feel like a sucker. Oh well at least I've got $7 million coming to me once I send a check to some guy in Nigeria.

I think they sold about 23K in season tickets...so if they gave away 23K that would be 46K attendance figure...which means they would have had to set up the temporary bleachers they had for Michigan. As for being out of B-12 expansion...only time will tell. Still think if it's 2 we most likely will be on the outside looking in because of geography...if its 4 then we will get the invite. But here is the thing..if it's 2 and Houston is one of the 2 then there will be no GOR extension and this conference will implode in 7 years when the GOR expires.

I'll tell you what is true: B12 being left out of playoffs again this year is looking very strong. With the UT loss to Cal, OU - forget with 2 losses, they've pinned their hopes on Baylor. Baylor has an easy stretch for the next 3 games but then faces UT, TCU and OU consecutively. The chances without a championship game look really poor again because the Baylor Rapist's are good but not that good. Now, how to convince them that UConn won't be around in 8 years so pick em now is the challenge.

I don't really want to mean to the guy - maybe he's new - but how do you read that and think it's accurate? You gotta be a little sharper than that.
 
So the comment I read from "Mr Hickleberry Bojangles" on the Oxygen Channel recap of the game is also false? He says UConn sucks and that if we were a P5 school, we'd already be in the P5. That line of reason seemed to have made sense but now I'm not so sure.
