True Frosh QB starting at Purdue

There are a number of true frshman QBs, not just Purdue. Stop worrying about 2017 - we'll be in the BigPacUSA conference playing gladiators from another universe, and need a more mobile qb.

It is not giving up it is looking at what is best for the program in the future.

This is a lost season and the chances of playing in a bowl are slim to none, why give up a kids redshirt for that if you think he can be special down the road? There is a reason Joe Cox started at UGA 5 years ago while Aaron Murray saved his red shirt. Same reason why Tyronne Swoops is still red shirting this year at Texas.

When you are 0-4 with loses to Buffalo and Townson you have to look at the future.

The experience Boyle gets this year, for better or worse, will have him ready to play sooner than if he sits out. I am willing to trade a Tim Boyle that has experience next year and can lead us to a Bowl game for a year on the back end of that. We need to get there first, before we start worrying about 5 years from now.

You should stop at 2,500. If you get carpal tunnel you will never make the big time. Save it up for when you turn pro.

Something tells me he has strong wrists and will be just fine.

The argument you have made, Boyle getting experience and reps to put him in a better position for next year, is the only viable argument for playing him.

I think it is a very valid point, I just think the people who think he is going to save us this year and now that PP and Whitmer are gone we are suddenly a good team are delusional and need to temper his expectations.

I dont recall a single post saying Boyle will save us. I dont recall the news that Whitmer was gone. If the staff believes they want to play a particular player in 2013, play him. I dont care about the frigging RS - you get 5 years to play 4. Stop playing for 2017!
