Cav is friends with his father, Pierre McGuire.
Thanks for this. At least we're not the only ones.
Yes… heck - they are playing conduit to the moves. Would guess it’s not NCAA tampering for NHL Coaches/Front Office personnel to have those convos w/ players and their possible landing spots. Are NHL teams advising their draft picks to go to the portal to advance their development?
Haider was picked by Nashville in an earlier round.I don't know if these NHL teams follow their prospects religiously as in game by game, but I remember thinking that Sergeev and Calgary can't be thrilled that he got skipped for the QU game, esp. after playing well prior.
If you're the coach and you think your goalies are somewhat even, you have to play the guy with NHL ties more just to appease the mother ship.

Nothing to defend. Maybe the players that are leaving are getting paid more money to move. I am all for capitalism!!! Also, didn't Haider come to UConn from another team last year? This is just the new era in college athletics. Kids jump from team to team. UConn will bring in other players to fill the roster spots. Rest assured, UConn will have a hockey team next year. See you at the rink.Haider gone. I cannot wait to hear @CTBballfan243 defend this.
THEY HAVE ONE INCOMING TRUE FRESHMAN AT GOALIE IN TOTAL. THIS IS AN OUT AND OUT SIX ALARM FIRE.

And rest assured, it will finish bottom two in the leagueRest assured, UConn will have a hockey team next year. l
Maybe, but that's why they play the games. And rest assured, it will finish bottom two in the league
Player will come and Players will go. UConn will be fine. Next man up.Matthew Wood is Canadian. Can’t get NIL
Samu Salminen is Finnish. Can’t get NIL
Arsenii Sergeev is Russian. Can’t get NIL
All three left because neither they nor their NHL clubs believe this coaching staff has any idea what they are doing.
The evidence is overwhelming.
Absolutely hilarious. Is this you, btw?Nothing to defend. Maybe the players that are leaving are getting paid more money to move. I am all for capitalism!!! I don’t think so.International players can get NIL money
That's not true. They cannot make active money on NIL deals like posting on social media, events, signing autographs. But they can make passive money off licensing their name, image & likeness for things like video games or apparel. Which I'm pretty sure the University is doing through Athletes thread.Matthew Wood is Canadian. Can’t get NIL

They just can't actively be promoting something as part of NIL, but they're still able to have NIL dealsI don’t think so.

International students still restricted from NIL deals - The World from PRX
In 2021, the NCAA made major headlines when it announced that student athletes would finally be allowed to monetize from their name, image and likeness. The market for NIL deals, as they're called, has exploded, bringing in an estimated $1 billion annually. But international student athletes...theworld.org
