Transfer Portal Starting to Load

Did I miss a post about Papa Kante being in the portal? He was a hot property here a couple years ago but seems to have underwhelmed at Pitt and is in the portal. This article's author lists UConn as a possible landing spot:
I think he’d be a really good piece for this team. A big for d and rebounding and who won’t demand a starting spot while he improves his offensive game. A lot of upside down the road too.

SJU looks scary good this coming season. As much as I dislike Ricky P, he's a heck of a coach, especially when he can run out on the floor one good athlete after another. He's great at teaching pressure and trapping D, transition offense and fierce rebounding. Now tnis often plays well during the regular season but not always so good during the tournament where the officiating is not so friendly with high contact D and the more skilled scorers often carry their team.

I like and want a talented Big East, but not a big fan of St. John's or their coach. I don't know how he does it, deep NIL pockets and promises of PT maybe, but RP is pulling in some very talented players. Granted they'll all be new to each other but the pieces do appear to fit well. We'll find out come next fall.

I just hope we have all the pieces we need, such as a high talent and depth at the 4, and a 3rd 5 off the bench who can defend and rebound when needed. We seem to have most of the pieces albeit not college proven or seasoned. I like our new starting PG and backup, thanks to the portal. I'm hopeful.
What’s most impressive about him is his conviction - which likely flows into his sales pitch. He moves fast, no waffling and his plan is crstyal clear, he makes it happen.

Pitino has had teams that should have cruised to much higher heights but rarely wins the game they need and if they do - there's an * and a vacated title to show for it. He may be a good coach in some eyes but regularly can be counted on making a decision that kills his team and leaves people scratching their heads. He's a crooked version of Larry Brown - tease with quick hits then flame out. But coach long enough and win x number of games and get elected to the HoF

He does. Have to say I am pretty impressed with what he has done in creating three completely different teams in three straight years. Upgraded talent each year, with barely a holdover year-to-year.

Their 8 man rotation right now is a good fit on paper with Zuby, Hopkins, Mitchell and Prey up front and Jackson, Sanon, Sellers and Darling in the backcourt.

That should be a top 3 team. I do like how UConn potentially matches up though.

Another local kid on the move. Remember a lot of people wanting him during that recruiting class, now to temple, my how times have changed.

Temple is sixth all time in wins, the bluest of the blue bloods

There was a lot of pearl-clutching when he didn't commit to UConn. Lamentations about Hurley tragically not being able to get/retain high-level local talent.

Turns out maybe we knew what we were looking at and made a shrewd recruiting decision. Didn't deter Donovan from coming here.

Not at all. Are you Zanetto? Homerville deluxe, perhaps head of the tribe, wear Husky underwear and myopic.
You either worship St. John's and Duke or you're a Husky homer. Sure.

You know, some of us can be fans, accurately assess the sports landscape and not cause as the kind of second-hand embarrassment you specialize in.

Dude, I wouldn’t waste my time targeting someone because he’s not the kind of homer you enjoy and can objectively give another program credit. The fact you say I worship two programs I enjoy watching lose is all you need to know.

Go look back at my post objectively and ask yourself if there is anything even mildly wrong with it? You must be a massively sensitive PIA.

Oh man, sorry Hans, kinda funny ruffruff. Humor in all its forms welcome on The Boneyard, some of the good stuff when people are scrapping.
NP.

I'm up from a good meditation that segued into a nap, and already used up my projection hashtag without feeling much of a further call except to redirect from vodka to bourbon if I were a day drinker.

Are you his kid or something?
There's an old saying, "not always right, but never in doubt" that just may sum up Ricky, so Ruff may be right.

RP comes across as confident, experienced, and makes the kids feel like he knows exactly how to make them better players and get them into "the league".

For proof, look at how kids are lining up to play for him just weeks after he humiliated RJ Luis.

The dude believes what he sells. He’s got conviction. Whether this top flight Frankenstein model turns into a gem, no one knows. It feels like it should work.
