Transfer Portal Starting to Load

The only reason he’s ranked so low is because he’s from Australia and they don’t know what to make of him. Still a top #100 guy. With his size, handle and basketball IQ could see time off the bench at the 1, 2 or 3. I think he’s really gonna surprise and be a big contributor next year.
Idk what you’ve seen, but he’d be way behind Abraham. Folks need to relax on these freshman. I wouldn’t expect a Liam level contribution from any of them let alone a castle level. We need to hit the portal hard for some dogs who can get to the rim and probably a 4/5 guy who is physical w some upside.

6’3 so decent size, led the ACC in assists, top ten in the country in assists, shoots 5 threes per game, form looks good, 2 years left. He’s good, we could do worse.

How's his defense?

Not a very good shooter. 39% overall from the field isn't very good. Although almost half his shots last season were from three.

Numbers compare slightly favorably to Tristen at ECU (especially factoring in he’s had 2 years vs. 3 years). He had 24 and 7 as a freshman in an ACC Tourney loss to Notre Dame. Then close to a triple double with 13-10-8 in an ACC tourney win over UVA this year. Was only 3-12 with 8 and 7 in a next round loss to Duke.

But I kinda like what I see from the numbers. A lot of games with 7-11 assists.

No, that's not what I said. I asked a polite question and it deserves an answer. IF (you know what that means, right?) a coach thinks a team increases its chance of winning by not playing a highly touted freshman, should it play him anyway? And if so, what does he tell the other players as to why he is not trying to maximize the teams' chances of winning?
I understand your question, I just don’t think that was the case.

Another question is, if a coach isn’t playing someone because they are a freshman and the guy in front of him is playing bad but continues to get chances, what does that tell the team?

Because that’s moreso what happened this year.

Me neither.

Are we thinking this might be more of a rotation guard or someone that’s likely to start?
Looks to me like round peg, round hole into the starting lineup if we can get him.

No guarantees it works out that way. If it so happens he gets beat out, we can still have a passer off the bench to change our look and let other people move off the ball (a la freshman Bazz).

That tells me the freshman wasn't anywhere close to being ready to contribute. Along with the minutes the freshman got telling the same story

A program having Nait George and Tate George play for them would be so much more impressive if we hadn’t already had Donny and Donyell Marshall on the same frickin roster.
I see your two and give you Justin, Taliek and Denham Brown.
