Have you ever spent any real time in a place like Liberty Missouri?

What I'm picturing with you right now is an article I read about Billy Bob Thornton more than 30 years ago when he and a buddy decided to visit New York City when they were on break from college. (To paraphrase) He said they had been to Little Rock plenty of times and had even been to Dallas once so how big could New York be. Then he said they were so terrified once they got there they didn't leave the hotel until it was time to head back to Arkansas (where they were from).

Don’t know the kid obviously. I’ve actually spent more than a hot second in both and from a culture, density and world view perspective you are spot on.

He's from Liberty, Missouri which is 2 hours east of Kansas St. Which is probably close for out there.

People in Queens are funny about it- if they have lived “in the city” before moving to Queens they don’t consider it to be NYC yet people who move there from elsewhere consider it part of the city

His coach isn't going to move from Drake to a Blue Blood--it'll be somewhere like Iowa. Stirtz's decision will probably be if he wants to stay with his coach (and less money) or go to a top-tier program with better facilities, coaching, and a better chance to win it all.

Not an easy decision... would be hard to fault him for any choice.

If he thinks he has a shot at playing pro, he should go to the top-tier for better coaching and exposure.

Yeah, and Paris Texas has a scale (about 1/15th) Eiffel Tower (with a cowboy hat). Being there is as much being in Paris as being in Manhattan Kansas is being n Manhattan.

He's pretty much a pure 2 scoring guard, so with Solo likely back I don't see a fit. Based on the early rumors this sounds like a money play anyway

Aren't they all these days? It's such a dumb system. I hate it. Good for the kids getting whatever they can but the entire system is broken. Not even pro sports have free agency every year.

To a point, but I'd argue there's also a lot of guys transferring for more opportunities or to have legitimate pro chances too. Those are the guys UConn is going after

It will be the ruination of college hoops with the combo of NIL and the portal. I’m ok with the portal but go back to sit out a year and 2 years in the same conference.

Need to get back to sit out a year in the portal and 2 in the same conference like the old days. And throw a max on NIL so we don’t see guys playing for 3-4 teams it’s a joke.
