Plus, this medical opinion stuff...well - lets just say everyone has an opinion. Universities and coaches are often in a can't win situation on these matters.

I've had a lot of surgeries. Outcomes generally determined my opinion and that always included whether the Doctor actually listened to questions and concerns and explained options and possible damage. Many aren't great at that. A young man late teens early 20's and even his parents may not know how to navigate the process. You just want it fixed and you do some research but mostly you trust. Never any guarantees but I've been on both sides of the Doctor Lottery. Mostly good but when it's bad you never forget.

Mid/late summer we used our last scholarship spot on this grad student who was a kick off specialist. He appeared in one game for us...guess he was injured the rest of the time. I have no idea what his injury was.... but wondering aloud, did he come here injured and duped the staff? Who knows what really happened.
I thought it was the wr/te from Canada?

Really - how did Edsall handle Eli Thomas? Or how did he handle the Jazz Howard situation? Find out all the facts before you make a judgement because this doesn't jive with the two above examples.

Edsall used both of those highly publicized events to stroke his own image/ego. I was not a buyer of his Notre Dame post game speech.

Didn't even think about the Notre Dame post game speech. Was thinking how he was at Maryland and donated to the statue that sits in front of the scoreboard. How he was the guiding light after the tragedy and held everything together.

Eli Thomas couldn't play anymore and Randy kept his word by keeping him on scholarship. Team made him a captain. Happened many years ago with a Center he had recruited that couldn't play due to injury and Randy still kept him on scholarship.

We'll never know the truth about Sean Young because HIPPAA rules prevent the University to speak about it. If history is a teacher in this case, I will go with RE's track record over Sean Young's account every time.

By the way, Hoboken Husky, what should Randy have done in those circumstances since you didn't buy what he did?

Who dis? Seriously, who is this? I'll take the word of all the guys who made it to the NFL despite playing in a CFB desert over guys who couldn't crack the lineup of a team that went 3-33 the last two years.

This smacks of a guys who absolutely wouldn't fit in Randy's program.
I had same thought but the bottom line is, no matter who the kid is, the narrative is getting out of hand here. No one outside the few fans here know whether these kids played one down or three seasons? They see a negative, highly negative, tweet and link it with other past player ones and we have a crap storm on hand.

Someone in the PR department, along with DB and RE need to do some serious damage control. Inspirational quotes won't do it. This is spiraling out of control, and at a rapid pace

.-.

And there you have it. Makes no difference whether you want Randy out now or next year. My suspicion remains that HCRE has at least 12 and perhaps 24 more months or more to work his transition from putrid to.bad to... average? above average?

You can denounce DB's take on Randy all you want but it changes nothing. Go ahead and vent but please support the kids in the program, the recruits, and potential recruits.

Make it stop. Please. Make it stop.

so What happens after five seasons???? An admission you waited two years too long?

This program is a disaster and it’s not just because our head coach runs his offense like it’s 1957 and recruits like he is the head coach for Wesleyan. This administration refuses to help.

I am laughing at the silly comments. Benedict DID probably the most ballsy Athletic Director move in the last half decade in leaving the AAC to the Big East ... and you have the nerve to use the word "coward".

The departure of significant blocks of a 2-10 team has to hit Benedict like an earthquake ... shaking your belief. But, we aren't a Football power. If someone told me that WE have money folks to fund a new baseball stadium & build a state of the art soccer facility & fund Ollie's exit/Hurley's arrival ... well that makes sense. With all the infrastructure we have in Football & the Capital Investment of many 100s of millions of dollars, I would not be surprised to hear that there is NOBODY to step up & place a new top body in the HC spot.

Our AD - despite the barbs from the peanut gallery - needs to be stabilized & kicked forward. Begins with Hurley; continues with Auriemma getting back into the FF; improves with Hockey growing & Soccer reinvesting & Pender having more success ... there is simply no energy and dollars to scape and collapse the Edsall regime: Start anew. Remember: the Capital needed to buy out of the AAC & enter BE is significant.

This team was 2-10 and losing players who didn't play much isn't a big loss out of maybe two or three players. The rest will end up at FCS or lower.
The class coming in will be full and o would guess a couple of Jucos and a few grad transfers.
Losing mentality that has been part of this team has to change and reading some of the the Twitter stuff I believe some folks be
So the guy who did his own grad transfer this spring and has been here for 10 minutes is now defending Edsell?

He knows a lot more than you do or anyone else on this board knows. Remember he's actually in the locker room and you're just posting on a message board.

there was only a couple of those players that would have actually played this year.

But you're just posting on a message board also no?

The next coach, whenever that is will have it much easier because Randy is bringing in better players. I have no doubt that the roster was much better this past year. Some more good news today. Yes, I wish he did more with the guys he had. And yes, whatever was going on that caused all the transfers is not good, but the team is definitely trending up.

SMU fully brought in mid teens this summer from the transfer portal & remade their Team.

I do not have tremendous confidence that Edsall had the same mindset as Sonny Dykes. However it would be nice to see Mike Zyskowski turn into a key player in bringing in 10 players between Jan and August. Needless to say, this is the college football world today and as crucial to UConn Football as the 2020 class.

I literally have no axe to grind with him I am a “casual fan”- I just think based on the way he’s handled the program in both terms he’s a legit sociopath.
