Most intimidating looking teams I can remember in college basketball were the Bob Huggins mid-90's Cincinnati teams with Danny Fortson, Ruben Patterson, Bobby Brannen, Kenyon Martin, Art Long, Melvin Levett...

UConn's most intimidating looking team was 2008-2009.

+100000 on those Cinci teams. Every single one of them was jacked, and they played with a chip on their shoulder. Really liked those teams.

Can’t agree more about both teams. I was recently watching some 2009 games on UConn Husky games and that team was jacked. Jeff looked like a prize fighter ready to go off. Side note, Patrick Young for Florida was a monster.

Everyone saying Adrien is right, but no one is getting likes because everyone remembers him and Thabeet getting bullied by Dejuan Blair. We were ranked 1st in the nation when he had 22 pts, 23 boards against us and knocked us off, while Jeff and Hasheem looked rather soft... i hated that game.

As a UConn fan for 4 and a half decades, I've seen lots of guys wear the UConn uniform. Sometimes, its not the superstars that captivate you, but the guys who are tough. Who are some of the toughest Huskies you remember?

I'll start with a couple of personal favorites, Lyman Depriest and Jeff Adrien. Looking forward to the responses.
Jeff Adrien +1. Dude was probably 6' 5'' but out-rebounded EVERYBODY

You know that says it all about Lyman, nothing but messed up Dana Barros and Shaquille O'Neal. Talk about different ends of the spectrum. Job got done!
@beerfan and I used to joke, "put in Lyman, he'll solve ALL our problems"... but really, we were serious.

Yes, him and Charles Minlend from St. Johns.
Minlend was a punk. I still remember when he slapped Donnie Marshall in the face when the ref was handing Donnie the ball to inbound. The ref then gave both T's.

When I read the title of the thread, Dyson was the name that popped for me.
Freeman, Adrien, Sellers, DePriest, Taliek, Ricky Moore were also names that came soon after. Also, when I think of tough, I think of guys who can take the abuse and go to the hole fearlessly. A couple recent guys I'd put on the list are KB and Newton, and Demary is rising quickly on the list and Reed is pretty impressive as well. Tristen would get mugged driving every single time and refs did nothing to protect him. Karaban just battles out there.

Finally, I have to add Chuck Aleksinas because I hit him hard with a no look pass to the face during an open gym and he took it like a man. He even told me it was a great pass and he should have been ready for it, even though he couldn't open his eye for a little while.
