No problem with the officials for inforcing it once it was raised - the coach and AD of the opponents just suffered a PR disaster. The game probably didn't swing on this given the final score, and ... The publicity for this team and for their charity is probably great - would not be surprised if someone steps up and matches their contribution in the school's name.
A rule is a rule no matter how petty, I guess...
-Rules are rules.
-And our schools are our schools.
-Schools never stop teaching. Whether they like it or not.
-Sometimes teaching wisdom in applying rules. And then we have here, …
- Sometimes teaching inanity in applying rules. Even after thinking it over. At length. During halftime.
- It’s clear, the Burke student knew this difference. ‘ “We were just supporting a charity and I think that it was dumb that we had to get a technical foul for it," Burke junior Michaela Brown told KPTM” ‘
- Oh yeah, that judgment thing. Good for her. Good – and thanks for vtcwbuff highlighting this as “crap,” indeed. Particularly good – and thanks for Mr. Cameron Smithwho chose not to just let this slide, without doing his best to highlight it to the community. Some people think, when you walk by a problem you might influence, you are part of the problem.
- Hope Mr Smith will highlight if Columbus’ leadership ever comes around , and “owns up” to making a mistake in their appearance of undermining the events all-out support for Make a Wish (for two points?), in front of the very students this entire event was staged for.
-We know it’s a school game. We know its a school. We know they are educators. What know what they taught. Now,... what did they learn?
what a poster wrote: it wasnt a championship clinching td... still 6 minutes left and they had the ball they threw it away and then let up two more scores. it wasnt a good call but it wasnt the only reason why they lost.A rule is a rule no matter how petty, I guess. The one that really hurt was the Mass. high school footballer who raised his arm in the air as he crossed the goal line with time running out and was whistled for "celebrating". It cost his team the state championship.
