I think my wires got crossed. I was thinking of a Canadian family with one sister who played at Washington and another at Utah, and then I came up with the wrong name. I think Michelle overlapped w/ Potter, thus furthering my confusion.Cripes..............if we're talking Utah, how about the Plouffe sisters (Katherine and Michelle)? Michelle is still repping Canada for their 3x3 squad.
For instance Maite Cazorla with an outstanding career at Oregon, drafted and played in the WNBA (Atlanta), before returning to Spain to become a mainstay of the Spanish national team and the Euro Leagues.I feel like there must be some Spanish players I'm just not thinking of. Or maybe they tend to go straight to the pros and don't attend college in the US?
Bev Smith got me interested in and following WBB. Had never seen a player like that before. My goodness. And for a way-back machine entry, I think Canadian Bev Smith, who played for Oregon, should be considered. She's in Oregon's Hall of Fame.
Reminder that the US Virgin Islands are part of the US. 😀I was thinking about mentioning Amihere and Boston but decided against it. Boston has lived in the US for most of her life and Amihere never was a full-time starter but she was a National Champ and helped us get there. I guess it depends on what qualifies as "non-US" and a top player. Also, I was focusing on graduated players and not those currently in college.
I'm afraid Gabby herself would disagree with you.Nice try but she was born in US. 😀
If we went by national teams I'd have to count Wisconsin born and bred Megan Gustafson as Spanish. No way Jose. 🤣
Oh yeah 🫠Reminder that the US Virgin Islands are part of the US. 😀

Errrrm, akshully, the Bahamas are in neither Latin America nor the Caribbean.Latin America/Caribbean
Jonquel Jones, Bahamas/Clemson-GW
Kamilla Cardoso, Brazil/Syracuse-So Carolina
Technically yes, but it's still considered Caribbean and is a full member of CARIBCOM.Errrrm, akshully, the Bahamas are in neither Latin America nor the Caribbean.
GEOGRAPHY NERD!
We could go with Becky Hammon and Deanna Nolan being Russian too lol. And Courtney Vandersloot being Hungarian.Technically, you could try to use that logic with Syla Swords as she was born in Paris I recall. 😉
But they weren't born there. Syla was born in Paris while her father was playing professionally. That's the difference. 😉We could go with Becky Hammon and Deanna Nolan being Russian too lol. And Courtney Vandersloot being Hungarian.
Oh that reminds me of the aussie Duke player, name escapes me, who hit the 3 to end UConn's winning streakI don't think I've seen Aussie Kristy Wallace mentioned. Loved her game despite her playing for Baylor.
She might not be on the list of all-time Australian players to have played collegiately in the United States, but Jessica Foley hit arguably the biggest shot in the history of Duke women's basketball in January 2003. @triaddukefanAustralia
Georgia Amoore, VaTech-Ky
Chloe Bibby, MissSt-MD
Jaz Shelley, Nebraska
Alanna Smith, Stanford
Kristy Wallace, Baylor
And let us not forget Azerbaijan's favorite daughter, Tiffany Hayes. 😉We could go with Becky Hammon and Deanna Nolan being Russian too lol. And Courtney Vandersloot being Hungarian.
This made me laugh 😂And let us not forget Azerbaijan's favorite daughter, Tiffany Hayes. 😉
