Yeah man. I went to umass during those camby/lou roe mike Williams days. Uzi was liquid. What a time to be up there. My UConn boys were battling back and forth with umass as top 2 teams in country. Umass lost to Kentucky in 1996 to what could’ve been the best college team assembled —-Crazy. Plus you had Boston College (Curley bros), URI( cuttino Mobley and tyson wheeler) Providence (Austin croshere and shammgod ). 1993-1998 were insane for southern New England basketball. Sorry to go a bit off topic.

Jack Phelan has not been mentioned. He was a star at Northwest Catholic, leading them to a State title in 1972. I believe that team beat Kolbe Cathedral and Walt Luckett in the finals.

Jack went on to star at Saint Francis PA. He was drafted by the San Francisco Warriors, and was also signed as a free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers even though he had stopped playing football after his sophomore year in High School. If you ever saw him play basketball, you would understand why the Steelers were interested.

He went into coaching, most notably as the head coach for the University of Hartford for eleven years, where he coached Vin Baker among others.
