Just 1 thing, if our starting 5 creates a big lead in the Q1.
I would like to see non starters replace starters 1 or two at a time, in and out so they get minutes when it matters for the entire 40 minutes. As the lead grows in Q3-4 then increase the number of non starters. I would think ending the game with 1-2 starters and the rest being nonstarters would be building experience and game dynamics for everyone.
Starters get comfortable playing with the non starters in a game while it matters.
I know the argument that the starters need minutes together to become as sharp as possible. However, is that really that crucial playing in the BEeat?
“Personally” I think we have to assume that at some point a key player will be out with the flu, some bruises. Strained muscle etc
I think that at some point it will be very beneficial when a none starter starts the game or they need to come in in Q 1-4 for whatever reason they will be a lot more prepared to play with the other 4 on the floor.
I know. Geno & CD have been building big leads and putting a mismatch of non starters together in Q4, nogarbage, mop for 40 years and they’ve built a program that is the standard.
Just a thought that’s rattled around in my brain for several years.
