So the Hoyas were a much improved team already and will likely be in the mix in either the BE semis or finals. St. John's however had beaten both Wake Forest and Penn State before entering conference play but has lost 4 out of 5 conference games. Assuming Paige does not play, there are things that we need to see from our other players to get all of our pistons firing. Here are my 3:

1) No forces from either KC or KK when they get into the lane, kick it out or drop it down without turnovers.

2) Azzi to take another step forward and take at least 15 shots with 3 of them being pull up Js. That will mean at least 20 points for 3 games in a row.

3) Some more baby steps from Jana and a solid game from Ice if she is over her illness. Morgan has become a good sub as an interior player and Aubrey will be returning soon but we need the post game to improve significantly for March/April.

This is a process ( I really hate that expression but it is apropos here). In each BE game, if we get one more piston to fire, even temporarily, it will help us get to be the team we need to be in March.

Do you have anything?

Honestly, I’d just like to see the darned game! I’m hopeful that those of us not in the tri-state area can watch more UConn WBB games next year.

Front court continued maturation.

Jana & Ice evolve in a positive way in terms of offense, defense, play development while minimizing non-strategic fouls. Get productive minutes for team chemistry with a set group of people learning each other's tendencies. Don't give in to emotion when one action goes against you - shot, foul, turn-over. Some of our front court folks get down too easily and don't shake it off.

Emergence of another scorer from guard position - on a CONSISTENT basis. Continuity is lacking thus far with some games on, some off. Lots of people are playing well in SOME areas but not putting it together to add a 3rd threat behind SS, Azzi, PB.

We still look like a work in progress versus some of the more polished and consistent teams we need face later.

1. Azzi with another 20+ points game
2. Jana with a double double
3. I'd love to see a 10+ points game from Morgan. She does everything really well and clearly part of the rotation. Need a bit more scoring from her.
You are not going to get a 10+ game from Morgan until she shoots at least 5-7 shots in a game including 2-3 threes. She defers too much but she is such a team player she doesn't seem to care. When she realizes she can help the team more by her scoring also than just by her floor game it may turn the light on. She is a physically strong player at 6'2', has a pull up J, a 3 and a drive move. It's one of the remaining pistons we need to get ignited. If it doesn't I will still take her doing what she has been doing so far. She makes things happen and has a nose for the ball. You can't coach that. Her having a big offensive game will do wonders for her confidence too.

Next year :( I don’t know what I’ll have to do.

I’ve run an IPTV service for several years that streams SNY here in south Indiana.

I’ll figure something out if I’m still kicking :)

I focused on Morgan the last game and I can see why Geno likes her so much. With that in mind she will figure into my thoughts this week.

1. Morgan focusing on offense. She is good inside near the basket and she needs to be able to score from the mid range too
2. Azzi is starting to look sharp and I would like to see her have a big game with Paige in the lineup
3. Jana to play 25 minutes and play like she believes she belongs on the court. I think she does.

We are at the halfway point but it seems there is still tinkering with the lineups. Is that because last year there was no other option other than to play the same starters and this year with more available brings more options that need to be tried and evaluated? OK, but it's the middle of January not November so when is the evaluating going to be over? Or could this be deliberate? If so, what's the strategy behind that?

1. Paige back at as close to full speed as possible
1a Aubrey able to go 10 to 12 minutes
2. Jana keeps improving in all aspects of the game
3. More strength shown from the players not Paige, Azzi, and Sarah! Get more from everyone capable of playing
