After handling Butler without Sarah or Blanca, we now play at home against an improving Creighton team. Whether Sarah or Blanca or both don't play, it will still be another opportunity to fine tune the machine as March creeps even closer. With that said here are my top 3 things:

1) KK, Kayleigh, and Allie to shoot both 3s and pull ups when open.

2) Control the boards on both ends.

3) Keep the turnovers low and the steals high.

Do you have any?

  • Blanca and Sarah back and both at 100% health
  • Jana to be better around the basket and with the ball
  • For the team to work on areas of weakness - work on zone defense, playing as physical as possible without fouling, and individual improvements for everyone...

I am thinking the problem with Jana is her footwork.

I want to see the tried and true game stats. ( 1 ) Score 90+ points. ( 2 ) hold them to -50 points. ( 3 ) I'm anxious for Uconn to break their 3-point record and hit 24 3's. With Sarah, AZZI, Allie and Ashlynn it is most doable!!!!

Only one thing so far, someone tell ESPN when the game is scheduled to starts

ESPN has the game starting at 6 yet this post states that the game starts at 7. i'm traveling from quite a distance and if anyone can give a TRUE start time i would appreciate it. thanks

Game time on the official UConn WBB sites is 7PM.

Doesn't your ticket have the game time (assuming you are traveling to attend the game).

Would love to see Jana go after rebounds versus just boxing out one position and not anticipating where the ball will go. She may be trying too hard but she has had issues grabbing ball with two hands. Not sure how to coach this issue but if Geno can get her to relax, her performance will likely show great improvement. Skill is there.

1. No injuries - both teams
2. Everybody plays and everybody scores
3. Keep improving on both offense and defense

As for ESPN's posting of the incorrect time of the game start time, maybe they're doing it on purpose because it's on PEACOCK and not them.😉

Game time on the Peacock schedule is 7PM, so ESPN is incorrect as of now.

1. Bigs progress in their journey to become dominant - rebounds and points. How about a cumulative target of 20 points and 20 rebounds!
2. Keep turnovers to under 10 a game.
3. 4 or more players scoring double digits.

Yeah, I think the problem is not just in her footwork but at the opposite end also. Needs a lot of intense summer work on her hands, her footwork, her putbacks, her speed and her endurance. Having said that, the upside is tremendous.

ya hang a ball tethered ball to a rope so she has to jump almost to her max height to grab it. Let it swing free. She has to grab it and hang for a second before she lets go. Do that about 200 times a day and she will learn how to grab and hang on.
Also throw her some hard passes that she has to reach high for will. She has to catch them and not bobble them.
Practice makes perfect.

1. UConn rebounding advantage of plus 14 with offensive rebounds of plus 6. This is a point of emphasis.
2. Turnovers under 12
3. Return of Blanca and Sarah with each playing over 20 minutes

Couldn’t agree more. Might be apples and oranges but when we had a larger framed kid in the 5 Star program, where you can’t teach height, footwork was always the problem. What I always did, I introduce the kid to a jump rope. The more time they spent, I mean hours upon hours, the better the footwork. Never saw it where it didn’t make even a slight improvement.

1. Allie to come in and play like SHE thinks she is a star and deserves to be with the others on the floor.
2. Jana to start making the strides you usually see in a player who has been in the program a while.
3. Some of the players who have missed time to be back on the floor.

UConn will win this game by a bunch but they need Jana to start playing like she wants to be a vital cog in the NCAA tournament. She has moments but she needs consistency.
