Our UCONN crew of 6, inclusive of my 4 year old granddaughter, will be there and I am looking forward to the game. It’s a great chance to meet the players after the game as well. We will be there early to watch warm ups. So we still have some notes and we are not quite where we want to be yet on both ends of the floor. Because Walsh is a very tight and cozy place to watch a game, it will be a great chance to see our team close up. So here are my top 3 things:

1) Offense against the zone has to improve. No forced passes or rushed shots. 3 safe passes work better than 1 risky pass.

2) Azzi to find the 3 range. A little softer release should do it. Start with the pull ups to get going.

3) Jana to be good to go for more minutes. I am telling you she is a different player. The light has gone on.

Watching UCONN at Walsh should be pure joy. What 3 things do you want to see?

!. With Back-to-back- to- back games.... I just wish for an
uncomplicated "W" and no injuries!
2. 20-point + 20-point game for Azzi and Sarah
3. A return to point production from our PGs
(Against the HOYAS: KK = 0, K9 = 2 and
Kelis = 2, however I have NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE
DEFENSE, of course.)

After watching the ugliness during last night's second half, I'm left with one profound desire:
keep everyone healthy. There were a couple of plays where Georgetown players were being dangerously over-aggressive and could have really injured our players.
Also, I'd love a lot of minutes for Ayanna and Jana, in particular.
A return of focus for the entire game, including a return to the norm with Azzi and team's 3-point shooting.

STAY HEALTHY!
1. Everyone is hot at the same time whether it's 3's or 2's or free throws!
2. Jana comes back hotter and more aggressive than before the concussion!
3. Defense rules!

Same old....... Same old ( ! ) Score 90 points. ( 2 ) hold Seton Hall to 50 points. ( 3 ) Let the bench go wild to gain experience. Be who you really are! GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!

1. Make more open shots
2. More Kayleigh. She looked good when on. Don’t know why she played so little 2nd 1/2.
3. No injuries.

Yes I think Jana is a key down the stretch and would love to see more minutes but there are protocols they have to follow. I think that the last 2 games before she was hurt we saw a different player. Maybe it was aggressiveness, or some newfound confidence, or something someone said. We saw a little of it last night. I also agree with oldude that she went in to send a message after that push down on Sarah. That won't happen tomorrow though.

1. Consistent intensity throughout 4Q's
2. Clearer, more defined offensive execution and production against the zone
3. Significant and timely scoring by Ash, Blanca, KK, K9 and Serah.

I agree with your comment about Jana, particularly as she was playing prior to her concussion. Yesterday was not on the same level for her. I wrote It off as " first game back after missing a bunch of games."

The team is staying in Montclair tonight ( saw their bus when we were out to movie and dinner), about 20 minutes away by bus, and probably practiced at Seton Hall this afternoon. Geno loves playing at Walsh. It is old school and a great place to see or play a game.

I played on that floor the first time in the semifinals of the Essex County JV tourney in 1966, not quite 60 years ago. At that time, the floor was parquet just like the old Boston Garden. I love going back. Both of my kids played on it as well. Tomorrow is a great day for my crew.

I agree. Anxious to see her tomorrow. She will be the biggest player on the court by far.

1. Jana makes a layup from left side
2. Jana does not leave her feet on defense
3. Jana does not get the hook for silliness

1. Jana El Alfy plays significant minutes & scores 12+ points, and has her best defensive game of her career

2. "BQ" drops a "Blizzard" on Seton Hall offensively

3. K9 takes a "Bite" out of Seton Hall"s 'Crime of a Defense' for a Double Double

1. Better three point shooting
2. No scoring droughts or low scoring quarters
3. Continued improvement (Serah/Jana) at post

While I could comment on a number of issues, its the middle of the year and some lack of attention to detail typically happens. As long as UConn continues to win by 30+ each game, these are relative nits until we get closer to playoffs.
One point of confusion is the lack of aggression by Williams on offense. Each game, she gets the ball multiple times under the basket and brings the ball down without shooting. Typically a turnover follows. She is the tallest player on the court and certainly strong enough to power the ball up. Not sure why she hesitates.
