Well, that's what I'm talking about with Azzi, except that we were looking for 15 shots so she owes us 1. In the event there are any remaining doubters, let me assure you that you just saw a good performance from her, nothing more. In fact, that was the tip of the Fudd iceberg which is capable of sinking every single team in the country along with Paige and Sarah. The pistons are firing one at a time now, then are muffled, then fire again. When they are all firing together, it will be a thing of beauty. Look for Allie to have another showcase and for KK to have a big game on both ends of the court. Anyway, here are my top 3 things for Saturday. Remember that Georgetown is a physical team:

1) Azzi to take 16 shots.

2) Everybody box out.

3) Morgan- Look to shoot and score. The longer you don't do it the less likely you will be to actually do it.

We will press from the tip and that suits us perfectly. We just want another piston to start firing each league game. Do you have any?

3) Morgan- Look to shoot and score. The longer you don't do it the less likely you will be to actually do it.

Your number 3 would be my number 1, BBallF. During the second half last night, I was sitting a few rows up from behind the UConn bench and was frustrated that Morgan consistently gave up shots from layups to 12 footers to pass to teammates. I understand her taped hand might have something to do with her hesitance, as well as her recent history as a point guard.

However, I wonder what she was thinking as she watched her freshman buddy, Allie, light it up during that same stretch. Morgan brings so much to the Huskies, but she's got to score.

1. Sarah scores an "effortless" 20 + points and fills the stat sheet = AGAIN!
2. The defense agains shines and gives Kelsey Ransom another fitful game!
3. Everyone eats.... and Q has a number of things to go "BOOM" about!
3a. I hear AZZI, JANA, and Shade will be particularly hungry... go HUSKIES!

  1. More than 60 fg attempts. 60 seems to be the norm. If we want Azzi Sarah and Paige to each take 15 shots, we’ll need to create more opportunities for the rest of the team
  2. I’m on the Morgan train with the rest of you. Get a double-double, girl. I remember you from high school and you weren’t a perimeter shooter back then. You were a baseline and paint scrapper. Be that kid again.
  3. And as always, Jana has to get her double-double.

100%. She can't just be a floor player if she is really going to help this team. She does so many other good things out there that if you add in scoring she would become a very important part of the team.

.-.
1. Chen. I would like to see Chen be effective offensively in this game. Especially with Paige out. I don’t want her to be a passenger on offense.
2. Morgan hitting a couple of shots would be nice. I am not as worried as the rest of you seem to be. To me. She is a big Nika right now. She has three years to develop her offensive game. Chen is far more of a concern.
3. Limit Ransom the same way we did in the first meeting. I think she scored 35 the other night for Georgetown.

1. Bueckers playing
2. Bueckers playing
3. Bueckers playing

Yea, it's not gonna happen, but that's what I'd like to see most.

I kinda like seeing the team without Paige on the court. No one is standing around waiting for her to bail them out when the shot clock is ticking down. People need to figure out how to score without her, and that's to the good of the team.

1. Ice to play loose and have fun
2. Allie to play enough to see if she is possibly an option for offense down the stretch
3. Jana to continue to get more aggressive on the offensive end of the floor

True, but if we're gonna win anything this year, it's gonna be with Bueckers on the court. So I'd rather they figure out how to score with her on the court. And her NOT having to take over everytime.

But sure, if we can get Fudd or Strong to figure out how to "take over", then that's a good thing.

Georgetown is rough, very physical. If Paige isn't 100%, I don't want her on the court with them

Well if they allow her to play, I assume she's cleared and ready to go. (is any player ever at 100%???) And I want her cleared and ready to go.....hence if she's playing vs Georgetown, then she is cleared and ready to go.

If she plays vs Georgetown....it's a good thing. Having players missing games is NOT a good thing. They can make the best of it, and it can be a boon to other players, maybe, but it's not a good thing to have players out injured.

1. Kaitlyn to score at least 10.
2. Ash & KK to continue to grow in their roles.
3. Defense, defense, defense!!!!!!!!

Totally. It will have a lot of floor pile ups. No need for her to play and as you point out, it means no one will defer to her.

So you want her to stay injured? Ya'll are crazy.

Nobody wants her to stay injured. Quite the contrary. We want her not to be reinjured. Let the trainer/doctor make the call. I just see an added benefit in her resting. Ask yourself this- Would Allie have had the game she just had if Paige were in the lineup? Her minutes would have been less, less shots, less playing confidence, less wind when playing extended minutes. Now if Morgan would just shoot the rock too!

Quite possibly even sooner. She tore it up late in the game. With Bueckers in, they might have been farther ahead, sooner. And Ziebell and Co might have gotten in even earlier in the game.

But non the less, I'd rather have a healthy Bueckers playing than Ziebell (as a FR, maybe later in her career, who knows).

BUT, if Bueckers isn't playing...it means she's still injured. So those of you not wanting her to play, must want her to still be injured (because that's why she wouldn't be playing). I'm not in that camp. Sorry. I want a healthy, PLAYING, Bueckers. NOT a sitting out, nursing an injury Bueckers.

You guys are just nuts.

But she is injured. There is no wishing that away. Well, you know what Abraham Lincoln said about arguing long enough with a crazy person, pretty soon no one will know the difference. So whether that applies to you or to me, its probably best to just leave it alone.

We don't want her to be injured. Georgetown is very physical - we want the UConn athletic staff to be cautious and hold her out as a precaution. The team doesn't need her and younger players get more experience.

1. Paige resting on bench
2. More playing time for the subs
3. Geno smiling

1. I'd like to see Jana and Ice on the court together for 15+ minutes
2. Team makes 50% of 3 pointers
3. Sarah with another double/double and on the bench in the 4th quarter

That's just ridiculous. Completely ridiculous.

This is one of the stupidest (is that a word?) arguments I've seen on here in quite some time. "We don't want Bueckers to be fit enough to play against Georgetown. We'd prefer she stay injured so other players can get some playing time."

WTF?

1. team continues to learn to play sans Paige
2. play a little “big ball” vs the very physical Hoyas
3. pics of the team eating mumbo chicken (not during the game, it’s really sticky)

I can’t have mumbo chicken tomorrow (nor watch the game in real time), having vegetarian friends over. I do have the sauce made, though, will have some next week.

Yikes. She is injured, that's a fact. Why let her play not healed fully and risk a season ending injury? We want her to be healed and fit but since she is not, this is not an elimination game. To repeat, her not playing because she shouldn't opens the door for others, others ,like Azzi, Morgan, and Allie, who we need to get to playing form, with a second wind, or get their sea legs.
