I'm still emotionally and physically hungover from Monday night and one of the greatest basketball games ever played. Still and all, it's time for your top 3 things. Here are mine:

1) Our bigs to have no cheap touch fouls or moving screens. Plant your feet and don't move them. Let the player you are screening for be in charge of running their defender off your screen.

2) Air tight defensive intensity with no lapses or miscues. Total focus each possession.

3) Paige, Azzi and CW to get those points again but with no misses from the charity stripe by our team.

  1. A win
  2. A win
  3. A win
Nothing else matters. It makes no difference if he plays 5 for 40 minutes, or 8. It makes no difference who plays well or who has an off game. If we have 1 more point than Stanford when the final horn sounds, then it's a good game!

1.The nasty 8 shows the Big East is tougher then the Pac 10
2. Paith comes off the end of the bench and score 12 points
3. Nika doesnt get a single foul called against her but has 5 steals

.-.
1. No injuries to any player on the floor for both teams especially UConn
2. UConn to maintain their composure
3. A convincing win by UConn, at least by 20, so there will be no anxiety attacks in UConn nation.

1. A Balanced scoring attack: inside and outside, high to low,
back doors, and three-point excellence.
2. Defend/ contain Hull and Brink, stress to all Point Guards! GO NIKA!
3. Offensive rebounds for us, many unhappy turnovers to them!
Oh,,,,,, did I say.... A win!

1. The refs need to call Stanford for the fouls they commit. A lopsided reffing job is fatal. But a "let them play" reffing job may be just as bad. We need freedom of movement or our offense falls apart. There are three teams against which we have been the victims of bad and lopsided reffing. Notre Dame, Stanford and Tennessee.

2. Liv needs to play tough D but also avoid foul trouble.

3. I would like to see us press to limit the time they have to run their offense. We still have decent depth to do this.

1. No injuries
2. Make the open shots, they will be hard to come by
3. Limit fouls and turnovers
(4. Pray)

.-.
1. Make FOUL SHOTS
2. Give the ball to Paige
3. Set up Azzi for shots

1. Free throws made at a high percentage
2. The right players taking the right shots
3. No silly fouls on the bigs

Ps. Fun fact: Aaliyah is actually shooting free throws at 75% this year with 46 attempts :0 Hoping mondays free throw night was just a one time thing for her and Liv who is also shooting free throws at around 70%.

1. Remain composed with bottomless resolve (stay on track to win #12 for the seniors and for the hometown girl)
2. Have no fear for you, as a team, are now better than them (the so-called experts are wrong for picking SC and Stanford over you)
3. No hesitation to attack Cameron Brink regardless of how many blocks she gets.....

Would really like to see UCONN shoot better (50%/40%/75%), but I've been wanting that for awhile to no avail. So I'll just go with

1. Win
2. see 1
3. see 2

Drives from CW, lots of shots for Azzi, and for Paige to be aggressive from the start.

.-.
1. Cardinals in pain
2. Vandersneer in tears
3. Happy Huskies

3 point % over 35%
At least even off the boards or slightly less
Turnovers under 10
FT % over 70%
explore some zone on D here and there

I know it’s 5, lol

When CD is in the game, if a guard is on her get her the ball down low. It’s like stealing.

.-.
1. Play airtight BB (make layups/FT’s, limit TO’s);
2. Win post foul trouble battle;
3. Everybody eats— team offense (vs. standing around watching Paige show)

… Bonus 4. Play meaningful 8-man rotation to combat Stanford depth (real, non-token mins for Ducharme & Nika)

Btw, it’s situations like this that have me wishing Geno played young posts regular min (more than strict garbage time) during BE conf games. Easier to imagine Amari and/or Piath being inserted Friday night should Liv and/or Aaliyah get in foul trouble had either/both been more acclimated to major D1 college basketball game action to this point. But almost unfair/desperate ask as-is since they haven’t.

1. Stop the Stanford drives to the basket.
2. #1 will achieve my 2nd goal of less fouls by ONO and Edwards.
3. Related to #1 and #2, Nika gets more minutes based on her ability not to foul.

1. Free throws made at a high percentage…
Hoping mondays free throw night was just a one time thing for… Liv who is also shooting free throws at around 70%.
Excellent points, Huskiesfan23.

I was actually nervous that NC State was going to intentionally foul Liv in OT following her poor FT shooting down stretch. Her stroke is a hard line drive with considerable backspin so very little margin for error. Amazed that she shoots as well as she does considering this heavy flat trajectory.
