So, I did have agita in the first half against ND, but the second half was pure excellence. We now travel to Georgetown on Thursday and then to Seton Hall on Sunday, where I will be with my crew. As for Georgetown, remember every game we play is another chance for improvement, fine tuning, teamwork and execution.

So, 2 of my top 3 things for the ND game materialized with the lone exception being 12 turnovers instead of the desired 10. Blanca had 5 of them. I do have some notes therefore from the ND game, so here are the top 3 things I want to see against the Hoyas:

1. Serah- Do not put the ball on the floor after an offensive rebound. Go straight up and shoot the baby jumper if you have to. You will be open or get fouled.

2. Blanca- It was a high pressure game and a bright spotlight but now it's behind you. Let the game come to you now. No forces. Limit it to 2 turnovers.

3. Ash, KK, and K9- You were 5-10 from the arc against ND. That's like shooting 75% from 2 and it makes us a different team. More of the same please.

if Ice & Jana are unavailable, give Yanna some earlier minutes. Not r placing but augmenting Serah
Caroline had zero minutes in a 38 point win Monday . We can use some steadying if we get sloppy.
Azzi shoot early and often

Serah is getting more aggressive and physical. Keep it up.
No more "too long" 3's. She is talented enought to get to the middle for a short jumper or layup.

Obviously a vicious smackdown but...
  • Sarah and Azzi to take 15+ shots each and for Azzi to re-discover her shooting touch
  • Continued shooting improvement from Kayleigh - keep that upwards trajectory going!
  • Serah to continue to improve. She's been my one slight disappointment from an expectations/reality perspective this season.

.-.
My wants and desires are ( 1 ) score 95+ points, ( 2 ) hold Georgetown to 50 points. ( 3 ) If Caroline is healthy, Give her 15+ minutes so her career stats will indicate how well she played. GO CAROLINE!!!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!

STAY HEALTHY!
1. I continue to want the defense to start strong, make Georgetown cough up the ball early and often!
2. Caroline and Jana to be healthy enough to get 12+ minutes!
3. Azzi to have a big scoring game, near her home, at least over 20 points!

1: The game. How many services do I need to subscribe to? Eh, catch it on replay later
2: Caroline and Jana of course, as they're too cool to deserve this head stuff.
3: Steady play by all with 0 turnovers

.-.
1. Bench players excelling whenever they are on the court..
2. Blanca not slowing down in the least, but continuing to push the envelope as she grows with her teammates.
3. The final score to match my prognostication exactly. 🤫

From here on, it is all about getting ready for the big dance:
1. Forwards dominate the boards and create viable scoring options at the post.
2. Team perfects rotations on defense to put pressure on opponents for 40 minutes.
3. First open player with good shot takes it (item 1 helps create second and third chances on misses)

All healthy players should play if they understand their roles adequately!

.-.
1. Jana
2. El
3. Alfy

Is it too much to ask the injury gods and lineup gods that UConn, supposedly with unprecedented depth, can go deep into the NCAAT with more than a seven player rotation against "really good" teams during crunch time?!

I agree about Serah. Just can't shake the old habit of trying to set up a shot with a dribble. Just go up and never bring the ball down.

I'll settle for another four quarters of injury-free solid basketball with Azzi rediscovering her three point shot and Blanca not running down court like she was shot out of a cannon..........hopefully Jana will be back and ready to contribute..........I'm supposed to be going to the Seton Hall game on Sunday, too, but the weather forecast looks pretty lousy with well over a foot of snow projected to start on Sunday morning........I'm assuming UConn is going directly back to Storrs after the UConn game at Georgtown or maybe they'll stay in the NJ area until Sunday's game under the circumstances........trying to remember the last time a game was snowed out due to the opponent's travel issues.......

When I spoke to the SHU ticket office today they confidently advised me that the game would not be scheduled.
