Traveled down to Nova for the game last year. Really good place to watch a game, immersed in their basketball history. This year neither Olsen nor Dalce but Nova always plays very hard at home. Anyway, here are my top 3 things as we plunge deeper into league play:

1) As Geno pointed out, it's almost impossible to set up a full court press when you don't make your shots. The intention was to start full court against Marquette and that is what I would like to see Sunday, except with Paige taking and hitting the early shots so we can get the press pressing.

2) Jana and Ice, just get some boards, score some points, play defense without fouling and play as hard as you can. Improvement is not a matter of thought, it is a matter of time, experience and practice. It will come.

3) In the half court game, tighter defense. No baseline, no back doors, and please box out on every shot. Then run baby, run.

What you got?

As i have said it before and will say it again, do to Villanova what the team did to Iowa State. You can't improve on perfection. That's my 3 things in a nut shell. GO FRESHMEN!!!! GO SOPHOMORES!!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!

1. BOTH PAIGE AND AZZI get untracked!
2. Continued strong defensive games by our GUARD duet! (and everyone)
3. Both Jana and ICE have the Defensive and Offensive
games that they are capable of.
3a. Morgan gets all the minutes she needs to become
an effective rotation player.

1. Punch first and keep punching - NO let up
2. If you have a wide open shot TAKE IT
3. A full four quarters of effort - not 3, or 2 - four!
Especially #3. The 2 games we lost, we lost because of poor quarters.

I’m not worried about Paige, but I want her supporting cast to start to shine:
1) Azzi
2) Ash
3) Jana
ps- would love to see either Aubrey getting back in mix too

My 3 things…a little unorthodox- 1-players Paige & Azzi shooting much better than the Marquette game and for each to score between 18 & 22 points….KK being a spark off the bench….Ashlynn & Sarah to play with the same intensity as they did vs Iowa State…Jana to over power on the inside & get at least 13 points and 8 rebounds.
2- coaches-Geno to make some in game adjustments as needed to demonstrate why he is the best coach in all of college WBB….
3-the fans - to keep in mind that UConn hasn’t fallen off the perch of the WBB world. It’s more like so many other programs have caught up. So many schools have brought in solid coaches that have been very aggressive with NIL policies & the transfer portal. It’s something UConn hasn’t had to utilize as much as other schools. The days of winning 4 titles in a row for UConn (or any other school) aren’t realistic.
My apologies for the long response.

Now that Azzi seems set as a starter, I have to change my wishes.

1. Jana stays on the floor for 20+ minutes
2. Jana boxes out better
3. Jana get a double-double
How about everybody boxes out better? I don't even see an indication that they think about boxing out. Yes Marquette is a little taller than some other opponents but it's about want to.

I disagree. Sarah KK and Ash are very diligent boxer-outer-ers. Ice is sometimes attentive to this. Paige is more a slashing rebounder, so boxing out doesn’t quite make as much sense for her.

There's always room for improvement. Only kidding a little. Ice seems inattentive all the time. I'm waiting for her to become a play first, not think first player.

No injuries!
Aubrey plays!
Paige gets p***ed and decides to show everyone she can score more than 23 and goes off for 50! (I’m getting a little tired of people forgetting what she’s capable of!)

1). Ice to be Savage out there. Steo into her Greatness.

2), Win the 50/50 Battle. Loose balls and rebounds. We gotta win that battle.

3). Max effort by everyone.

1) Jana with 22+ mins; 12 pts+/10+ rebounds/2 blocks/2 assists; 1 or fewer TOs
2) at least two light it up and two around 40% beyond the arc: PB, Azzi, Ash, KK, Cheli, Chen, Strong, etc.
3) Up by 40+ pts at sometime during the 4th QTR, hold 'Nova under 50 pts, AG announced she will be available to play next week, and all Huskies playing stay healthy.
