I will be there with my crew and looking forward to a great doubleheader with an improved Louisville team taking on Tennessee in the first game. I remember seeing the Vols last year against Iowa and remarking about how dangerous they were so it's another good opportunity to scout them. I have seen Iowa play and here are my top 3 things in our game:

1) KK, Azzi and Kayleigh to disrupt, distract, and divert their point guard and two guard play in trying to set up their offense which should have the same effect on their 3 point shooting from those positions. We have superior quickness in our guards which can be a decisive factor.

2) Serah, Blanca and Jana to stay out of foul trouble and to be aggressive offensively to put pressure on Stuelke.

3) Run, run, run and press, press, press including the 1-2-1-1 diamond press with Blanca at the point.

Looking forward to seeing our great team. What are yours?

STAY HEALTHY!
1. Start the game attacking inside to open the outside! Make Stuelke work really hard right from the tip!
2. Keep the defensive pressure on through the whole 40 minutes!
3. Work some of the bench players in with 2 or 3 starters so they get used to their pace!

UConn will handle Iowa as easily as they have every other team they have played this year. They might have an off shooting night but that defense can play. So here you go.

1. Blanca starting to move into the starting rotation or at least on the floor with them more.
2. Sereh to keep getting better on the inside. She played a good game against Marquette
3. More Fisher when the game is out of range with the front line players.

Another fast start. In the past, UConn has sometimes been sluggish starting out in "early" games. This is a 1:30 start time, and a sluggish start could give the Hawkeyes a confidence boost and help them stick with the Huskies.

Improve the foul shooting percentages individually (Azzi is excepted, of course) and as a team.

Sarah to have a better game and show her six turnover day from the Marquette game was an anomaly.

1. A WIN
2. Ava Heiden, 6' 4", the early foul trouble.
3. K9, Jana, Allie, and Blanca all with BIG smiles on
their faces at the end of the game.
PS. The Huskies demonstrate to the Hawkeyes
how hard a Connecticut defensive "CYCLONE" blows!

I want to see us stop missing the bunny shots. We blow more put backs and close up shots/layups than we should.

Stop the lazy passes.

I didnt see the game but I heard it on UCONN+ and it sounded like Sarah needs to rethink her choice of footwear. She was slipping and sliding in the USC game too.

I always assume UConn wins and Nobody get injured in the game (both teams).
1. The defensive pressure is kept on for 4 quarters This means rest periods are given to everyone in a rotation that allows this to happen.
2. Every UConn player who enters the game plays hard, has dominating defense and scores.
3. UConn has 4 or more double digit scorers.

I saw their loss to Iowa State...played at ISU. ISU is currently undefeated. Tight at the half...ISU pulled away in the third quarter...looked like a rout was on the way but Iowa rallied and closed quite a bit...lost by around 4. The game...being at ISU...was a significant advantage. Iowa is ranked.

When watching on Saturday [I have seen 2 starting times [1:00 and 1:30] keep an eye on soph Iowa
guard ...Chit-Chat Wright...5'4". Got to be one of the coolest nicknames in the country. She has a good handle...is very quick..did some nice shooting to help Iowa get close late....think she wound up with around 21 points. I suspect she will
be matched up with KK quite a bit....should be interesting. That game was her first back from some kind of injury or
sickness...that made her performance all the more impressive.

Oddest feature of the game: Iowa coach single-covered ISU star...Audi Crooks...all game long. She rotated
several different players on her but it always was single-coverage. Result: terrible....Audi had around 30 points with
good shooting. If they had been able to show her down somewhat...who knows? BTW she leads the country with
around 27 points....and...is second in field goal percentage...around 72%. Strength of schedule...not impressive.

Audi matched with Sarah/Serah/Jana/Blanca...singly or occasionally with double coverage? Audi is a legit
college scorer...was Big 12 POY last season as a soph. Will she have some real trouble on defense? Probably.

1. This feels like an important game for Jana. Because of the presence of Heiden… maybe she will enter the game earlier than usual? She needs to take ahold of that opportunity if it happens.

2. Big game for Sarah strong. By her standards; in a bit of a slump. And she will be matched up at times with Stuelke. Needs to have a good game. Needs to win that matchup.

3. Let’s shoot free throws well today. Free throw shooting has been disappointing so far this season.

And an extra one. Turnovers. We had a lot against Marquette. Let’s take care of the ball against Iowa.

You can watch the game on You Tube and I believe that the team wore special addition shoes from Nike on Wed Night.

To be clear: The last part of my post above inappropriately strayed to the ISU team. I do follow them
and somehow got to thinking about a possible UConn/ISU game in The Dance...Probably a second weekend
game. 'Tis Iowa we need to be focused on Saturday

3 things.. no injuries...win...Iowa play well enough to be reasonably competitive.
Blowout wins are fun to watch but given our conference strength we would
benefit from fairly tight games with 5 minutes to go...imo.

1. No ticky-tack fouls on any of the bigs for both teams. Hopefully this game will provide much needed data points for Serah and Jana's development.
2. Various combinations of Sarah, Serah, Jana, and Blanca where three of them are on the court at all times.
3. Quick assimilation to the Barclays Center, especially for our shooters behind the arc. Warming up for just 30 minutes between games is not conducive to shooting well early on.

I, too, will be there, and (besides a win and no injuries) here's what I'd love to see:

Sarah's total game back to her normal and dominating Stuelke, Heiden and everyone else in an Iowa uniform.
All of UCONN’S shooters on their A game, inclusive of Allie, Caroline and Kelis.
A utter defensive gem, making Iowa struggle to get any offensive flow.

Yes, your last one is the real key. I am looking forward to seeing them live. It should be a rabid UCONN crowd.
